brought the truck to dealer yeasterday get call for it 1500 buck for new transfer case nice:icon_thumby:

think it be cheaper rebuilding or put a junk yard one in

1354..The only possibility.

It will be an electric shift BW-1354 Transfer case. Wicked cheap if you find one from a truck that some one is parting out. Heck, I would sell you the spare that I have but shipping would have to be freight.

What exactly happened to the case, is it just the motor that is bad, a stretched chain, a cracked case?

call the junk yard 275 for one

geez a lil expensive in you neck of the woods- i picked up my first one for 100 and the last one for 40$.

KVD7360- there is no way id pay 1500 for a tcase. i would look for a vehicle getting parted out or go junk yard it up, you could fix this for way under 300, depending on you skill- i can change one out in half a day as i've had to 2 times already. :icon_rofl: and what did happen to the case?

what exactly is it doing? The newer 1354s have a few different parts...the main one being the plastic shift fork for the mode operation. They tend to wear out quickly. As far as being a bad unit I can say no. I service a fleet that has many rangers all newer than 05...most are in the 200K milage range with an 03 they just got rid of that clicked over 410K.

You dont know if it's got a skid, yet you know it's got a crack in the housing??? Figure'd you see a skid or not below the case. Does it look like this???

And what everyone else has pretty much said, get a low mile one from a junkyard and replace it yourself. it's one electrical plug, 8 driveshaft bolts, and 5 or 6 trans to tcase bolts....then it's out and slide the new one on.
