Hi guys,

I'm new to the site and new to Ford Rangers. I purchased a 2005 lvl 2 in May.

I've searched for some info regarding the drive shaft in my lvl2, 126" wheelbase but I've not been able to find what I'm looking for.

Does my drive shaft have internal components? ie: inner sleeve, corrugated material? Can these components come loose (maybe from taking some hard knocks while off roading)?

If so, this might be the cause, or part of the cause, of the vibrations I'm getting above 80kms/hr, 50 mph. I've had the wheels balanced.

I've asked a Ford service dept., but all they'll say is, "Bring it in and we'll have a look." They won't tell me if there's internal components.

Thanks.

Every driveshaft that I'm aware of is hollow. Just a steel, aluminum, or carbon fiber tube with the yokes joined to the ends.

They can get bent or dinged while offroading, which could cause a vibration.

More likely a need for new u-joints, though.

Do you mainly feel the vibration in the seat? That's where u-joints usually show.
