05 Edge V8 Swap


Negative. It may be a pin placement issue.

Also I will be going AWD really soon. I am going in on another parts truck with Pete and another gentlemen. Just need to know what the front and rear drive shaft length are?
 
Make sure your ebrake cable is working, your truck will roll on even the slightest inclines with the awd case. I have that problem in both my trucks. Going to 4406 real soon in my Trac...

Will the drive shafts out of the Expo work for what I am doing?
 
The front will, the rear is too short. A rear shaft from an x-cab 4x4 ranger or 4x4 gen 1 sport Trac should work though, mine did. When I did my V8 swap in my Trac I reused both shafts from the V6 setup. When i do the 4406 swap I'm going to try to adapt the output shaft and housing from my bronco 1356 so i can get rid of the slip shaft of the 4406...

You might try looking into using a 4407 from a 250/350 instead. The ones I've seen don't have the slip yoke. That's what I originally wanted for mine but they are a lot harder to find than the 4406's.
 
I take it the 4407 is just like the 4406 with a fixed yoke output? There are a couple superduties in my local yard, I'll have to check them out. From what you know of the 56 and 06, are the tailshaft housings similar?
BTW, I've looked around here and EF for an actual build thread of yours, I've seen a few threads that kind of describe your build, but not an actual build....Do you have one?

Busy is a understatement in my case. Hopefully after this on call rotation I can slow down and enjoy a few little things that I use to be able to do.

Will someone give me a reason NOT to buy this intake setup?
 
I would look at the flow compared to the gt40, p&p might work better than buying that intake (gt40 flows pretty well) and put the funds toward AFR 185's...

Well it has been a while so I will update this thread as well.

I might have my speedo issue figured out thanks to Rwenzing. Also picking a Typhoon intake, saving for some Edelbrock E-205 series heads and some 30 lb injectors. Once all that is done, it is off to the dyno for a good tune. :icon_hornsup:

I am up for STOTM again this month. Just saying.
