04 ranger hid's

want to put hid's in my 04 ranger edge. i guess i need certain housings to make it legal. what kind of housings do i need and any reccomendations on an hid kit? i would also like to do my foglights too

Check ebay, I seen a kit on there a few weeks ago. Wasn't to bad of a deal either.

From what i hear, those cheap kits dont last to long and are illegal. If you want to do it right, it aint gonna be cheap.

you need projector housings made for hids and technically they need to be laser aimed.

You can try and retro fit your housings now to a projector. Dont be fooled by the "projector" lights on ebay and stuff. If it doesnt have a sphere over the hid it isnt a projector. Even real aftermarket projectors arent that great though. They are very hard to aim and you usually end up blinding everyone else on the road.

I have HID's in my 05 since August of last year. No issues in a stock housing. The kits on eBay are garbage. I recommend retro fitting but like I said I have had no issues with ppl flashing me or cops bothering me. PM me if you want more info about it or purchase a kit.

check out ddmtuning.com my buddy has an 04 lancer with a hid kit from them and it looked good so I put em in mine. very affordable in my opinion and I would say dont buy from ebay. I've got a 2000 ranger I converted to front end to a 01-03 and I got aftermarket projector lights for it (from ebay) and the hid kit it came with blew out before it turned on for the first time so I had to trash em. the lights look good but the hids form ebay werent worth a penny.

also to find out which one you need just take out the existing bulb and look at the base of it and just match it to a bulb on their site and pick a color The hid bulbs go by names like h1 h2 h3 h4 etc. and for all I have noticed, the only difference is how it fits in the socket.

the bulbs are also different lengths. a h3 bulb is significantly shorter than the 9007 type that a ranger takes.
