I have 04 3.0 ranger codes say misfire cylinder 5 did a compression check 70 pounds. I have 150k miles and I know if I have the heads reworked. I'm afraid that I might blow the rings. Any body have any ideas how I could sove this problem. Don't have the money for another engine. Tried zmax in the fuel so far no change.

isn't 70lbs kinda low?

Yes 70 could be low...depending on what the others are. Compression test is only part of the story and you may want to look into leak down test or others that can determine if you have a valve/head problem or a ring issue.

Did you get the readings on the other cylinders by any chance? Not familiar with the 3.0 but this is the 2.3 forum so you may want to check that out to see if anyone recently posted specs or a similar issue.
