Hi, Aloha from Hawaii,
I replaced the gear shift lever (the overdrive button and knob came off) in typical cheap parts fashion the knob started coming off the new one too. I gave the end of the lever a good slap in with the palm of my hand, cutting the wires to the overdirve button, rendering it once again useless. My parking brake lights came on, my turn signals quit working, and also my air bag light came on as well. I replace the turn signal module..for nada...still no signals. it is to my understanding when a flasher relay goes bad my turn signal lights will still come on, but they just wont flash. Is this correct? My signal lights just wont come on at all. At this point I am thinking it might just be easier to replace the column. I need to get this done soon as my safety check expires in Jan. Any suggestions? I have a line on an '03 steering column. What year columns are interchangeable with mine? 04 Ranger automatic. Also looking for the interchange on the front bumper for the same.
