03 Non-torsion Shock Reccomendation? No lift...

Hello All,

Being new here and needing some shocks for my new to me 03 4.0 2WD 4 door, I was looking for good options... I had talked myself into the Rancho's but can't find any fronts listed for the non-torsion front end. Any recommendations?

I really like the edlebrock IAS shocks I have on my '92, do they even still make those? I couldn't find them at Summit lol. To be honest, I would just go with a quality brand like Monroe or Gabriel, which is what is available at parts stores obviously..

I ended up buying a set of Bilsteins that I'll comment on once I get them installed.

I'm interested to know as I need to drop front and rear a couple of inches so want something a bit shorter and better quality than stock

Lot's of members are at TRS.org copying and pasting info here. Hat's off to those that are helping. I have been trying to go through and sticky the FAQ's that members are posting.

I have a lot of stuff saved but most people are beating me posting.

If youre only dropping it 2" stock shocks are fine, more than that youll need different length shocks.

The Bilsteins are in...

Well I have several days driving them now and here are my thoughts... First the Ranger is a bit tighter with less bounce than before but that could probably be said for any new shock over a 97,000 mile one. It does seem to ride a bit quieter than before. Secondly, the truck over all does not have as firm a ride as my 99 did. This is probably attributed to a bit lighter truck and smaller profile tires. All that being said, they should be the last shock I ever buy for this truck and I would probably do it again.
