Okay! Will a 03 edge 8.8" rear axle (drum brakes) with 4.10 gears swap into my 96 ranger without any fabrication? do I need certain parts from the edge to complete it? how will rabs be affected?

i did a similar swap but from a 02 in to my 94, it was drop in for me.. only thing i kept were the rear brakehose and lines and ebrake cables.

i dont see why not, to my knowledge the only 8.8 that needs to be fabbed on is the explorer version because it is spring under axle instead of SOA. the rear abs sensor may be an issue, but i couldnt tell you for sure. youre going to need the u bolts as well as the upper plates from the edge to make this swap happen, and possibly a bit of creativity to hook up the ebrake if you so choose.

Yes, the '03 axle should be a direct swap.
