02 explorer seats in 98 ranger?

I have seats from a 2 door 2002ish Explorer sport in my 1999. To clarify, they are out of the 2 door explorer, not the 4dr that was redesigned that year. They are in post #14 in my build thread.

The passenger side seat dropped in with no modification other than drilling out a bolt hole. For the driver seat, I went to the junkyard and got a manual driver side track to swap out the electric track. Only issue I had is I think the track was slightly bent as one of the bolt holes did not line up on the floor will a little massaging. Also, for both seats I had to drill out a couple of the bolt holes so the Ranger floor bolts would fit through..

If I remember, my Ranger tracks wouldn't swap over (at least not easily)

oh okay, yeah mine are out of a 2 door explorer sport.
i think im going to keep the ranger tracks, amd if they dont bolt onto the seat (holes dont line up) ill just drill some new holes that will fit

although ive heard, that the 02 sport seats are a direct bolt onto the ranger tracks. 98 ranger tracks.not sure if they changed from 98-99

I don't have my old Ranger seats anymore (sold them) so cant go and look but i think the tracks were tied into the seatback where on the explorer the tracks are a separate piece

02 seats bolted right into my truck. no modifications, even the seat belt receiver worked with my truck
