01 V-8 Power steeing hose question

donor is a 97 V_8 5.0
the donor high pressure hose is threaded on the rack end
the rack on the 01 2wd ranger is the bolt on press fit.
is there a known hybrid hose for this application.
or do I need to have s custom hose made??
the donor mountaineer is gone so no hopes of using the rack from the donor vehicle.

Interesting. Have you tried looking up the '01 V8 hose? I'm curious if it was bolt on or press fit. My '99 Ranger was threaded just like the '99 Explorer donor.

all the images I see on line are threaded on both ends

I have a custom hose shop close to the house if all else fails

I found pictures of the hose you've got on your 2001. First I'd realized that it had changed over the years. No chance of your current hose fitting?

the length is perfect , just the connection at the rack has changed

I meant use your existing Ranger hose with the Explorer power steering pump - no chance of that happening?

I am going to try that , I have a feeling it may be just an inch or 2 too short , will let you know if it ever stops raining here.

Use a 3/8" hydraulic hose compression coupling to marry the very end of the Ranger hose assembly to the Expo 5.0 assembly.

A cheap brass compression union might take the pressure but a steel hydraulic union will get the job done.

This is exactly what I did on my 2003. Same situation as 2001 Ranger.
