01 hub assembly

can anyone give me instructions for pulling off the front hub assem on an 01 4x4. not sure if i need to take off the big nut or not,
 
I think you do.
 
ill have to buy a socket, any idea what size it is, i live in the country, so im trying to make one trip, low budget.
