I came across a picture of a 93-97 ranger that had 01+ headlights on the original front end and I was wondering how it is done. I have a set of 01 headlights my friend gave me and would really like to put them on my truck. Here is a pic of the truck

Whoa that's cool. I've always thought my gen was kind of a lame duck because it got giant headlamps then they switched to those. And seeing a pic it does almost look like the '01 lights were based more on the '97 style.I would say parts of the header panel must be from the '01

No its the 93-97 header panel cause the chrome and the lower part are all one piece. On the 01+ header panel the lower part that goes under the headlight is part of the grille

Well it's got me stumped then...

I dont know how he did that but Ive wanted those lights forever so hopefully someone can solve the mystery

Photoshop? got a link to the original spot you found it?

I am sure that it took some custom mounting somewhere.

The difference between the headlight are not much so i don't see how that it would be to hard to mount and i am going to the junkyard tuesday so i will take some pics of the difference between the two!!!

I'm pretty sure that the pictured ranger is sporting fiberglass flared fenders and such. You can buy updated fiberglass front ends that will fit on older rangers and update the look. As is proven in this picture of a Bronco II:

Not saying thats necessarily how they did it, but thats my 2 cents... I'm thinking there's some fiberglass going on there, and that you could swap in the new lights, but you'd have to change fenders, hood, and grill to do so. Thats just a hunch anyway!
