I want to delete the cats on my 01 ranger 4l sohc bc its just a mud truck, can I use a ypipe of an older 4l ohv and bolt that on? anyone know of any good delete kits out there?

Does anyone even read the sticky at the top of this forum?

The way the engine system works if you delete the cats you will force the engine into "limp" mode. You won't get all the horsepower that the engine can provide and will lose a lot of the "tunability" as well as the self-diagnosis. For the same price as a delete kit you can pick up a pair of cheap cats and still be road legal.

It's people like you, that either don't know better, or even worse... do, that are providing a lot of the ammunition that greeners are using to shut down our off road parks and trails. Please don't add to it. Do the right thing and put on cats.

edit; I used to be like you and wanted to get rid of all the pollution "crap". Back when I was growing up the systems were basic and didn't function well. Now they work if you let them.

Tread lightly,

Richard
