for the past fewmonths my tranny was acting poorly shifting hard and light slippage in low gears, a few weeks ago my od light came on for one day, today it came on again and after it came on the truck was shifting hard, more than normal, I just had a full tranny flush a few weeks ago.

Any thoughts.

Thanks this could be expensive!!!!

i had a similar problem with my 99 contour. it turned out to be the transmission range sensor. not sure if you have one but i would say if you do that is it. your symptoms are exactly what i had.

Could be any number of things. The fact it's got the O/D light, and it's smart enough to flash you when it screws up? The computer has detected a fault with the transmission. Given the fact it's shifting hard...slipping..etc.. Sounds like a control servo issue, and/or pressure related issue. Any codes stored that might yield clues?

(and yeah....this is either going to be something silly...or expensive)

ok so what do you suggest i do, should i get someone to check the codes and go from there.... Thanks

Have the codes checked. You either have a bad solenoid pack or a broken clutch pack inside the transmission. Take it a good transmission sjop or back to Ford. Tell them all you want done is have the transmission codes checked and nothing more. These transmissions are also known for bad gaskets between the valve boby and transmission, warped valve bodies and bad EPC solenoids.

i talked to some fellas at at tranny shop and they said that it could be a bad valve without looking at athe truck, and that a fix could be around $500, there is somany things i have no idea what to do. i guess that i will get someone to check the codes.
