Hey I’m new to this scene but, I have a question on my 94 ranger. The transmission keeps slipping until the fluid gets warm but I don’t have the want to fix I would rather just replace unless it’s an easy fix then I would but I was wondering what other transmissions would fit my 94 4.0 V6?
So ive decided to take on the quest of a body swap from my 2008 ranger 2wd on to another 2008 but 4.0 automatic 4x4 and it ran and drove in the previous truck. Ive completed the swap but im running into problems with doing a manual transmission swap into said truck. I have changed any harnesses...
Greetings! Let me start by saying I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post, I'm not really sure where my issue/struggle fits in. Please give me a chance to move the text to the appropriate thread before I get deleted. I joined because every other search I've done while working on my...
Hey,
I was just doing some research regarding the Ranger's Transmissions and I was curious to know what is the largest transmission anyone has managed to tack onto the Ranger? And how has it worked out for you?
Just as a note, specifically Manual Transmissions. Sorry guys, but Manuals are...
Hi I am in the process of swapping in a 4.0L and more importantly a M50D from a 92 Ranger, I am more concerned about
1.Will my master cylinder work with the M50D
2. will the slave cylinder have the same fasteners/couplers as my FM145
3.How much longer is the M50D&BW13-54 than what I have now...
The trans mission went out on my '88 4x4 and I picked up a '92 5 speed 2x4 transmission. My question is, will I be able to put my tcase onto the 2wd trans or do I have to swap the guts so I have the 92 trans in the 88 casing? Or did I drive 140 miles and waste $150 for being a dumbass and not...

Ok so here is a transmission pull out and replace thread.
I had an A4LD that went bad; it wouldn't hold OD after driving for 40km.
I couldn't find any affordable M5OD-R1's so I looked for another A4LD.
Turns out a TRS forum member in the USA had one he was looking to get rid of, $150 later...
I just changed out my old 88 A4ld with 175k for one out of a 1992 explorer 4.0. According to the guy, it only has about 20k before it got smacked. The rest has 180k. I got everything from the radiator to the transfer case and most of the harness with the brain. I'll rebuild it later
The swap...

I own a shop here in northern California. A friend recently asked me to swap out his problematic automatic in his 91 4.0 Ranger 4x4 for a 5 speed. I pulled a trans, clutch, flywheel, clutch master and hose from a 93 Explorer. I ran into some compatibility issues, searched the Internet for some...
I have a 1988 bronco II 4x4 and it's A4ld has been given me nothing but problems, so I have been considering installing a 5 speed. I looked long and hard to find a 4x4 one but have had no luck. I found a 2wd M50d at the local jy from a 98 ford ranger and was curious if this could be used if i...
I have an 88 Ranger 4X4 and my automatic transmission crapped out on me so I'm going to put in an FM146 manual into it what do I need to do to the ranger to make the manual work properly?
Hey Guys,
just got myself an 1988 Ford ranger
And was wondering if anyone has any tips on transmission swaps
The tranny thats in now is an automatic ( A4LD )
And to replace it, the 5-speed ( FM132 )
Any help would be great
this is my first car and haven't a clue where to begin
Thanks
My neighbor has a 86 ranger he is about to sell for a decent price, beautiful body 4x4 works great but the tranny (manual) is about shot and the engine (2.9l V6) is very high mileage. I would like to take the engine and tranny out and replace it with a carbureted smallblock v8 and appropriate...
I recently swapped my automatic transmission in my 98' Ranger 3.0L V6 2WD to an manual transmission, and I need to find a computer for it to pass emissions. After calling Ford, I learned that my truck was 1 truck of the 5% produced that exact year with everything I have including the manual...
I want to know if you can bolt a 4R55E transmission in place of the lighter 4R44E? I have 3.0 but would like to replace the light duty transmission with its bigger brother the 4R55E. My 4R44e is having problems shifting from 2nd to 3rd so I want to replace it but dont want to run in this problem...
Are the two transmissions the same size? I know the bellhousing is removable from my truck to transplant onto the FM145. Will the drive shafts be compatible?
My truck is a stock 84 b2 with the TK4 4spd manual. Looking to swap in a FM145.
Thanks, 84BB2
I recently swapped my 5R5EE Automatic Transmission, to a MR5OD Manual Transmission. Do I need a different slip-yoke on my driveshaft, or can I use my stock one?
