I could move the shaft on the transfer case with pliers but it would go back to where it was when I released them.
After watching the first two videos on YT, (neither addressed the issue), I found 2-3 commenters that had the solution. Connect the electrical plug without bolting the new motor in and move the dash switch to the setting you want and voila, it worked perfectly.
Will test it tomorrow with an actual drive but while it's still up on ramps I need to fix a fog lamp that's out so I'll report back.
As for Rock Auto, I have had good luck with them but shipping to the Caribbean takes a while and ain't cheap. Auto Zone here had the part overnight.
