I am trying to remove the drive shaft in by B2 a4ld. I have a single cardan DS and i cant get the damn thing out of the ass of the tranny.
Do i remove the bolts on the flange or what am i missing?
This DS has been out twice in the last week. But not by me.
You can call me an idiot, thats fine.

and where is the embarassed icon.

should be bolts from the flange to the trans. 4, think they are 12 mm-- 12 points

I know what you mean. I couldn't get mine f when trans swapping. I just ended up leaving it on. If you find a good way to remove them.Post it up!

Well, when I pulled mine from the jy, I broke all the bolts loose with just a 12mm box end wrench. When I tried to take my factory shaft out at home, I couldn't do it with the wrench and a socket/breaker bar/ratchet combination couldn't fit on the bolt right without hitting the shaft so I took it to my mechanic and he said they have red loctite from the factory, touch them with a little heat and they come out real easy. The shaft I got from the junkyard was a re manufactured one, still had the sticker on it, I guess the bolts didn't get loctite.

Never had a problem when using a 12pt 12mm wrench and a 3lb sledge. Works every time.

big screwdrive and breaker bar. between the yokes, and pulled like hell :D had some thread selaer on them. but when i put it back together ill use blue LT.

I can't get my front shaft out of the transfer case....

should be a 1350, it has a slip yoke on it. undo the D-shaft at the yoke on the pig and push the d-shaft toward the t-case and it'll come right out

and x2 on the loctite. ford used that shit on everything. anytime you cant get a bolt off, try to heat it up with a torch (if you can do it without blowing up your truck or setting something on fire) it'll usually come right out.

Well ya see what had happened was... I sunk her out in the woods and changed all the fluids..well I forgot the transfer case so it's beendirty water/ATF mix.
Anyways, I was swapping my front diff to different gears si Figured while I was at it I'd change my U-joints. after unbolting the shaft and pulling off the dust boot... all the pulling and prying I di wouldn't make that thing slide all the way out.
Fluid is fresh, u-joints are not. I figure I'll drive it around a while with fresh fluid an try again later. Atleast my t-case didn't blow up
