I cant believe you all. none of you remembered the most important aspect of vehicle maintenance. You have to flush your engine with saltwater every oil change, then run it for about 10 minutes before putting new oil in so its nice and dry!!!!

My car was idling like crap the other day so I figured since I just got it, it may have been awhile since anyone changed the oil out. I decided to go ahead and change the oil. I used Mobile 1 synthentic oil like I was reccomended on here. Anyways, I drain out the oil and noticed it was extremely dark and even after 10 minutes of draining, it was still coming out. I decided to go ahead and flush it to make sure all the bad stuff got out. I hooked up the hose, ran water through the engine, started it up and was waiting for the water to come out clean (The engine never went above idle so I was told this would be ok). Anyways, About 3 minutes into this, then engine starts shaking and shuts off. I figured it was all cleaned out so I plugged it up, added the oil and figured I was ready to go. WRONG! The car won't freaking start now. This car has been nothing but trouble for me, I think I am done with it.

know what makes me wonder? how was he draining oil for 10 minutes? every oil change i've done (and that's a lot, i worked at a quick lube place) can be drained in about 2-3 minutes tops... average vehicle is 4-5L of oil, and .1 liter drains roughly every second, so at max flow, you are looking at about 1 minute for 5 L however, when the level gets lower, the pressure, and thus volume decreases, hence, 2-3 minutes for a full drain (and still dripping a little)

either a) this guy wasn't draining oil, or b) it's a fake story

i've put tranny fluid in the oil before... and i did it intentionally...

i've actually put ATF into manual transmissions and power steering on virtually every manual i've ever owned...

idiot indeed, but it wouldn't cause nearly the damage that they are all making it sound like... it COULD cause the fuel filter, and injectors to get plugged, and possibly gum up other parts, but unless it's 100% plugged (any of the parts) you can fix the bike without removing any parts... all you would need to do is drain the remaining high performance energy fluid, put in 94 octane gas, and methyl hydrate, (i would do 1part methyl to 3-4 parts gas, but most mechanics would recommend 1:10 or something like that) and run the bike... sugar is the only thing that is a big risk of damage, by gumming anything up, if it hits the combustion chamber, it will burn most of the way, but if it plugs a fuel injector, it's plugged and will probably need to be replaced... if it still sprays a little, it can be cleaned out...

the only other part of the energy fluid that would cause harm is the water in it, which can cause rust on any susceptible parts...

though all of the ingredients could cause any o2 sensors to go bad, or have bad readings... but likely they would be ok for 10 miles of riding... only time would tell...

though what i might do for fun, is go buy a couple bottles of that stuff, empty one, wash it really well, and fill it back up with an octane booster, or injector cleaner, or something like that... and next time i go 4x4ing, right when we are airing down, pour the octane booster one into my gastank, and drink the other... when someone asks me about it, just say nos has made energy drink/octane booster for years! and wait for them to freak out!!! what do you guys think?
