Getting a little out of hand!

I would just like to thank all of the white collar oil assholes that are laughing all the way to the bank. Pretty soon there will be no middle class in this country. Just the extremely rich and poor. It's sad what it is coming to.

Guess which class I'll be...............lol

an electric ranger uses fuel too, just not directly. You have to burn fuel to create electricty to charge the ranger.

with gas prices at $3.15, and given my local energy costs (dont recall the KW/H charge off the top of my head right now), driving an electric ranger is the equivilent of driving a vehicle that gets 133MPG....it would cost me $0.02 a mile to run...as apposed to $0.15 for my gas ranger or $0.09 a mile for my escort.

trust me i wouldnt be willing to give up a testicle for something i hadnt done the math for :icon_cheers:

You're selfish, look over what you just said. Some of you guys really gotta figure out that the world does NOT revolve around American's. You are a fine example of the typical American that the world learns to hate and it is really too bad because I've met so many nice ones but it just isn't enough to cover up scabs like you.

And Toyota's don't suck, if I had a choice I would've gotten a Tacoma over my Ranger. But I'm just a broke kid working McDonald's part time and I have to deal with paying higher gas prices than you and more for all my off roading parts. Suck it up princess, work a few extra hours to pay for that trip. That's the logical thing to do. But I guess Spock was right "Humans are illogical".

I ain't selfish, I'm patriotic. Anyways, I meant that every country (except our enemies) would end up benifiting, because if the oil system was completely opened up by governments then everyone would see reduced prices. I don't care where you are from, we are all feeling the hurt pretty bad... I ain't selfish- if my rant made it seem like that though then so be it. If you had any idea how much fuel is hurting my family right now ckblum you would probably drop a load in your pants. I know the world does not revolve around us, in fact I hate that we get involved in everything as it is.
As to the toyota issue- If you love them so much why don't you just get out of this site? If you don't hate them you should- it sounds like you could not afford one, just like everyone else who ever wanted one but couldn't afford one(i.e. not me). I already work as much as I can, by the way, and I get paid minimum wage too. So don't give me this crap, no one wants to have to work 2-3 extra hours a day to pay for gas. As to your illogical bit, aren't you late for a Star Wars convention or something?:icon_rofl:

thats why i will be riding a 50mpg motorcycle as much as i can.
these oil prices wouldn't be such a problem if the dollar wasn't so weak. I am starting to think that opec sees we are in a slump right now so they jacked up the price of crude so that they can make the slump even worse. its never a good idea to buy anything from people that hate you, openly or covertly.

The Biggest problem with the oil right now is the fact China is buying up Every bit they can get their hands on. The fact that OPEC is'nt increasing their output is just icing on the cake. Think about it, why would they increase production when it would lower the price of a barrel of crude. Just my .02 though.

lol im up in southern BC near nelway USA/Canada boarder and gas here is 1.20L no idea what it is a gallon but it sucks ass i remember when i was 12 in 2002 and id go snowmobiling at the train tracks and it was like 92L its bullshit

The problem is not supply and demand.. They just want you to think that, and frankly it works.

Back a year or so ago the price of a barrel of oil was like $65 bucks. The price of gas was over $3.00 a gallon. Lately, the price of a barrel has been up around $95-$99 a barrel. Guess what.... Gas prices are still around $3.00 a gallon until now.

So you tell me... If they can make money charging us $3.00 a gallon when the barrels were costing them $95 a pop, think of how much they were making, and or overcharging us when it was only $65 a barrel.

Bush and Cheney both have ties to oil, they don't want the price to go down.

The oil companies are pulling record profits still... There is nothing we can do.

There is more to it than that, due to the high price demand has dropped as people are becoming more effeciant, so OPEC cut production to maintain the price that they want. It is nice how being a monopoly they can get you either way.

But Wal-Mart makes more money per dollar invested than these oil companies with "record profits", and yet nobody is chasing them with torches and pitchforks...

Damn it!

Gas was $3.19. It just jumped here to $3.45.

I don't know why we're not making fuel from corn. Where's the E85?

I think the U.S. is foolish for buying all this oil. Think of what it would do if we pushed the E85 and started making corn based fuel. It would definitely help the farmers and keep more of the money here in the U.S.

If they turned every kernel of corn produced in the US into gas, it would only be 12% of the nation's needs. There plain and simply isn't enough of it. They are working on alternative methods (grass, farm waste, animal leftovers from processing plants) but until they get a breakthrough it is just a fad in danger of falling out of style.

Plus I have problems with fuel line freezing when I ran the 89 octane E10 ethonal in my Ranger, so I quit running it in everything although it is cheaper. My old junk isn't built for it, so rather than try to save a couple bucks and risking hurting something I pay 10 cents more for staight 87 octane. I also had alcohol/fuel seperation issues (a small amount of water like condensation will do it) when I ran it in my tractors, with 6 something to 1 compression they don't care too much for straight alcohol.

You may be smiling but your still getting screwed. I bet gas where you live was under $1.00 per gallon 7 or 8 years ago wasn't it?

Right after I got my Ranger and started driving regularly in September of 2000, it was about $1.50 per gallon for 87, and people were making noise about it then.

You may not like what I have to say but I'm saying it just the same. The REAL REASON we have this problem is mainly because we AMERICANS are spoiled rotten & even when prices go up BECAUSE WE USE SO MUCH GAS, we just keep right on driving anyway. As long as any of us refuse to cut back in some way or the other with total disregard to the prices, we are just going to keep on paying HIGHER PRICES. Like it or not but that's the real truth. And has anyone considered SLOWING DOWN on the highways? NOT in Virginia where I live they haven't. If anything they are driving faster then ever before. People's attitudes are such that they say: I bought it so I am going to drive no matter how high the gas gets but then they turn right around & started bitching & crying about how high it has become. Go figure that one out. HA!!

OPEC has already stated they do not care what people in other countries think, say do about the high prices of oil. It belongs to them & if anyone wants it they will have to pay OPEC's prices regardless how hard it becomes on everyone else. AND, gas is like cocain to ALL OF US. We ARE addicted to it & if you say you aren't then you are lying to yourself. We all have become so used to driving our cars, trucks, boats, planes, go-carts, racing machines etc etc that we #1) can't do without doing these things AND #2) we are not willing to do without either. It's a FREE country & we will do just as we damned well please regardless what anyone says. AND THEN???? We all sit back & bitch & complain about the high prices. And as long as everyone keeps this kind of attitude it is just going to keep getting worse.

I for one don't like it anymore then anyone else as the "trickle down" affect makes everything go higher in price. Food, clothes, medications, rent & everything else goes higher. And many people who work for a living & those on fixed incomes & poor paying jobs are going to be hurt the worst. AND you can believe one thing if you don't believe anything else. It's going to get a lot worse before it ever gets any better. You think the price for a gallon of gas is high now? HA!! you just wait & see what it's going to be in about 6 months. We will be wishing it was back at 3.25 a gallon. Just wait & see.

Supply & demand is just one part of the problem. GREED for the MONEY by big oil companies, share holders & suppliers & the demand by everyone to have access to oil & gas as well as no one being willing to cut back on useage is just all adding more to the BIG PROBLEM. So what's the answer??? HELL I dont' know. If I knew that I would be the richest man in the whole world. But I do know as long as the demand for gas & oil is what it is today & getting even worse, OPEC is going to drain us all dry & never look back.

Here in Virginina where I live we are paying 3.199 a gallon for regular gas with some stations charging as much as 3.259 in the northern part of the state up around Washington, DC. Have I cut back on a lot of my activities in order to save money? You damned straight I have & will do it even more if the prices keep going up & up. I like the money MORE in my pocket then I do seeing it in the pockets of the big oil companies.

you sir have nailed it!i mean exactly,we have 85/95 in the 55 speed limit areas,if you drive the speed limit, you're risking everything.

u.s. oil companies make what,10 cents a gallon.ya got to sell alot to make high profits.and the profits belong to share holders.like me,policemen, nurses,
firefighters, anyone fortunate and smart enough to have a tax shelter retirement plan.

we use too much, and we pay dearly for it.

We in this country are really going to have to modify our diving habits and what we dirve, the problem is only to get worse. Do we really need having a truck or could we just buy a trailer if we needed to haul something? Do we need a big lifted truck just to go out and play? Don't blame the countries in the Middle East, we get biggest percentage of oil supply right here from North/South America. Might as well blame China, millions of them now have become affunent enough to buy cars and really driving up the usage of "our" gas.

I would just like to learn how to ride the wifes ride to save on gas, man does that ride get great gas mileage.....ABSOLUTELY ZERO GAS!!!!!

You got it.......it is a BROOM

1st paragraph: I know, and it is gonna suck!
2nd Paragragh: GREED GREED GREED. That is all it is. Record Profits? Record Prices? 2+2=BULLSHIT!!!!:temper:

I think the U.S. is foolish for buying all this oil. Think of what it would do if we pushed the E85 and started making corn based fuel. It would definitely help the farmers and keep more of the money here in the U.S.

As mentioned in another post, we couldn't grow enough corn to produce the E85 we would need. We'd have to import corn or ethanol from other countries.

If more farmers grew corn that would mean fewer were growing other crops, causing their prices to go up. This would also cause feed prices to go up so meat and dairy prices would increase also.

Right now ethanol plants are subsidized by the government. That's why the prices are cheaper. Farmers are also subsidized by the government. If it wasn't for our tax dollars, E85 would be more expensive than regular gas.

Aside from all the petroleum products needed to produce ethanol (fertilizers, fuels, etc), alot of water is also needed. To get this water they drill wells. This is already causing problems in some parts of the country. In Texas, large tracts of land are being bought up just for the water rights. Wouldn't that be sweet? Drinking water at $10/gal.

Then there's the fact that not all of the ethanol plants are owned by US companies. There's one here in Minnesota that's owned by an Austrailian company. There goes our money, over seas again.
