My idea of a Shelby Ranger if there would have been one.

Any updates multi?

Nothing new to report.. We had some bad weather down here so I didn't get out and work on the rearend.. I did check the codes though.. She is staying clear of any codes but Checked the fuel MPGs and it is at 10 MPG.. I have no Idea WTF happened... It got 25 on the first road trip... Oh and the right header gasket started leaking pretty bad a day ago so gotta put a new one on that side.. Remember back I changed out the left side cause it started leaking... CopyKat was right on saying the headman gaskets suck!

The bolt that holds the cross-pin in. I've done 10+ 7.5s and 8.8s and never broke one :dunno: I heat the carrier a little with a propane torch before trying to remove it.

I searched high and low for info on it and all I saw was people saying it breaks and people saying they never had one break.. I never saw anyone say the put heat on it... I guess it's too late for me to do that now.. Someone should do a good write up on installing seals and bearings on the rears and include heating it in the writeup.... If I can get a new used rear that needs seals I'll do it...

Yeah, the paper gaskets SUCK. So does 10 MPG's!:shok:

At 10mpg's, I would be looking for a fuel leak somewhere.

though there are times when I think my little BII get bad gas mileage at times and at other times it seems to be getting great mileage.

I hate to say it, but if you can't get it figured out, might be time to put it back in the shop and put the V8 in it, though it would be a shame after all the work.

just read the entire thread, if you do swap the motor ill but your polished intake lol

wow 10mpgs, the thing should be running so rich it'd be smoking like a diesel. at least that was the case in my 2.8

Nope it runs perfectly... just gets sucky MPGs.... One thing it did do once when I first started it the other morning was backfired through the intake and blew off a vac line and vacume cap thingie....

Hey multi, sorry to thread jack but if you get a moment take a peek at the build thread in my sig. It's gonna eventually involve a little/lot of body work and I'd love to hear your input. Maybe it'll save me a headache or two.
