aussie vs powertrax lock right

well both are pretty well the same price, powertrax is just 50 bucks more. and im a cheapskate but ive seen alot of people on this site run aussies and they seem good. i will be getting them for the front and rear will be lincoln locked. so what do you guys say, aussie or lock right? i am thinking aussie, just because ive seen more people here with them

What you see people here run with is usually a good indicator. I personally ahvent run either of them, but I wont choose one until I read up on them here.

in a perfect world.. arb or e locker.. in my world.. aussie is the way to go. i've only heard good, and have drove some rigs with the aussie and i love it, hence why i'm going the aussie in the rear.. (front to probably)

Well comparing front and rear doesn't really work.

Having had both in the rear I much prefer the Aussie, noticably smoother and of course cheaper.

I can't say much for Lock Right since I've never had one, but I have Aussie front and rear and have no complaints with either.

So you're saying driving with the front axle is just like driving with the rear axle

I've had to drive with the front axle too, there's no way to compare it, completely different.

Its different, yes. But the operation of the locker is the same.

Well, being the only one in here who's had both in a rear axle and driven both extensively, my claim stands. I could tell the very first time I drove mine with an Aussie locker that it was a lot nicer.

Unless he has a 31 spline 8.8 this is a moot point anyways because the Aussie doesn't come in 28 spline.

I vote Aussie as well.

I have run a rear lockright, it worked good but was noisy as hell.

I have the Aussie in the front of my 91, its silent and operates very smoothly. It doesn't hinder your steering when in 4x4.

i've never dealt with the aussie,but have done so with the lock-rite.it's operation seemed about the same as a detroit(a little harsh)but what surprised me was that when i pulled it out again after a few months several of the teeth were chipped.i didn't like the idea of the bits coming off of it going through my gears.
