high beam light on when headlights off

anyone have this happen? intermittent issue, my high beam indicator light (and possibly my high beams, maybe just headlights/ low beams) will sometimes turn on without any input, when the headlights are off, just using drls. its not even when i hit a pothole or something, seriously just whenever it feels like it. could it be the multifunction switch, or is there a relay I've got that's sticking? i cant find a relay location for the hi beams or lows. TIA (1991 ranger xlt supercab)

Definitely demonic possession. Try putting holy water in your windshield washer.

This was a new one on me.

Looking at the '91 EVTM, it looks like it would have to be something breaking down in the Daytime Running Lights module itself, as the high-beam indicator light is fed directly from it.
