Restoring the old Eight Nine Stang

No worries. I don't recall hearing what the fix wound up being.

Ended up partially being the Ignition Module (Ford is a must, autoparts aftermarket did not last and have short lives) and the entire distributor. When you turn the distributor gear, the pickup wobbles inside the housing like crazy.

I assumed my distributor was fine @ 100K mi, and I had switched out my cap+rotor, wires, and Ignition Module. I was close...just didnt occur to me that the entire shaft should was capable of wobbling a the pickup making shiddy contact.

What's the verdict with the rims?

What's the verdict with the rims?

I'm still weighing my options. I want to see my buddy's pony rims when he gets them done. It's just going to sit for a couple months now, maybe more if this winter keeps dumping snow on us. Over the course of the next couple months I'm going to gather some things. I need new carpet, possibly a new drivers seat, new headers, as well as the rims decision.

I'm also contemplating putting louvers on the rear window. My friend's 85 had them, and I really liked them a lot.

don't you love it when a plan comes together.i can't wait till the gt looks that good!

Thank you guys, I am stoked to get it out this spring and put it in some cruise nights (local car shows every Thursday night).

If any of you Mustang guys have a set of Ford Motorsport or BBK 1515 headers for sale, let me know. I'm in the market.

Go w/ the LX lamps looks a LOT cleaner IMO! I ran 83-86 tailights on my 91. basically the same as the 93 Cobra but without the pinstripes!!

looks really good shane. you should bring it to the hire's for the meet and greet. also i say keep the gt tails and no louvers. also get some tint for that rear window for gods sake!

Thanks Rico. She's not seeing any street action until March/April (whenever the snow leaves). Believe me, window tint is on the agenda.

Thanks! It's already undercoated, and fortunately won't see too much more snow; thanks to the Ranger. I love my plate frame. I used to have a front frame that said "only little boys wear bowties". No more front plate for me though.

Here's a couple pics of my 86 GT. This is in the show that it won best of show 83-86 Mustang.
