i've run into the same rubbing problem on the one piece shaft before-my solution was similar to nathans, just trimmed the hell out of the tank skid.

I'll be sure to trim like no other:icon_rofl:

I agree with Sasquatch. Let's not get pictures of that...

Lookin good Mike! I am also digging the Level III thing! Quick Thread Jack Question. Do all 8.8 rear ends (Ranger) have 10 inch drum brakes let's say 90-92ish?

Thanks Bud!! :icon_twisted: Yep Waitin for Mr Shelby to put out a Ranger!! I know what you mean...

Thanks Bud!!

Well my exhaustive research hasn't really confirmed anything. From the looks of it yes. And I talked one of the guys that's been there for 30 years and he said yes. The easiest way to tell is you can measure the shoes; 2-1/2" width means 10" drums, 1-3/4" means 9 inch. I know it doesn't really help but it is definitely some info.

as far as my experience goes, 8.8s have 10" drums, being that they're typically placed behind larger power plants (i.e.: 4.0, 5.0) requiring a stronger braking system.

for instance, my '97 2.3L had a 7.5'' with 9" drums behind it and my '98 4.0L has an 8.8 with 10" drums.

Just like Frank said.

So hat tip to my buddy at work. Offered to do my water pump for me tonight. I'm pretty stoked. I'll drop by the shop tomorrow to do some other stuff but it's almost done!

Let the hazing begin!

O.K.......you should be receiving your complementary supply of ZANAX 120 ea. 3.5mg. within the next two (2) weeks. It is important that you follow the recommmmmmmmmmmmmmended dosage carefuuuley, as it can cause hand/I co=-ordination problemmss...

Thread jack... Did you find out anything on the brakes bud?

I thought I posted the info... let me double check.

*edit* Quoted it in your thread.

On a related note multi I spun all my pulleys. They all seem great except my idler, it's a little bit worse than the others but still good. As easy as it is to check them down the road I'm making a mental note of it.
