After 35 years, the original monster truck is switching it's Ford body for a Chevy. Ford apparently dropped it's sponsor of Bigfoot in 2007. Not really surprising. You only see Bigfoot at small truck shows and monster truck drags held at county fair grounds. Ford sponsors the Blue Thunder monster truck which is in the USHRA Monster Jam series that fills stadiums and gets lots of TV air time. It's basically a good opportunity to get a lot of advertising.

Anyways, Firestone, Bigfoots sponsor, has become the official tire of Major League Baseball (MLB). Chevy is the official truck of MLB. There you go.

I always felt it was a shame that Bigfoot was losing its gloring and not involved in the USHRA Monster Jam series. Now it's finally dropped to the point where it's wearing a Chevy body and looking forward to the MLB all star game.

Dennis Anderson's 'Grave Digger' is probably the second oldest monster truck still in competition. At least Dennis has stayed focused and remains a successful Monster Truck owner with a huge fan base and tons of TV air time.

it all comes down to the all mighty $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
i say refuse to buy his promo products.:thefinger:

I think if Bob Chandler put some Ford skin back on Bigfoot and entered it and a driver in the USHRA Monster Jam series, he'd see some $$$ sponsor money coming at him.

The days of these small 3-4 monster truck shows at fairgrounds is long gone.

you are defiantly in agreement with me.

i think complacency got the upper hand for a spell, and he made bad licensing deals early on that eventually cost him out of stayin ahead of the pack.

yea i agree Jim but you can bet your next paycheck that gm will come out with a street truck at the local dealer just like ford did with the big foot cruiser.:dunno:

hey hey hey, dont talk bad about baseball man. its the greatest sport on earth. undiluted by pads and other safety equipment. all thats required is a helmet on the batter and thats it. even cups are only optional. the pitcher stands directly in the line of fire of a ball that if delivered mid 90 mph-ish which most mlb pitchers throw mid-high 90s, physics dictate that at 100% contact on the bat's sweet spot will come back at 110+ mph. its 60 ft 6 inches from the plate to the mound, which gives him less than a second to react. if he throws over 100, the return speed rises over 125 mph. thats right at about a half second reacytion time or the dead nuts equivalent to cutting a .500 light. think about that for a second. thats 2 eye blinks. real men play baseball. sissies play everything else because theyre afraid of a little white ball. and dont even get me started on soccer.

Why does everyone bag on soccer. I played it for 11years and it is a shit ton of fun.

soccer.

real men defiantly play soccer.

real crazy fawkers with lots of energy.......i cant watch it cause it makes me tired...

Soccer is definately a better game then most in my opinion and I have been playing it for almost 15 years.

If you think about it, Monstertrucks really don't have anything in common with the truck bodies they put on them, its just a body, just like nascar.

Pretty much, its just a piece of fiberglass to put sponsor's stickers on. If no one paid them to put stickers or a body on their truck they probably wouldn't even have a body on it.

Ive always been confused if the trucks are actually racing, or if it is just like wrestling......

Baseball is about as exciting as curling. I'm not a big soccer fan either, but at least with soccer the game actually keeps moving the whole time.

IIRC the reason Bigfoot didnt go to Monster Jam was that Moster Jam essentially owns the trucks and can change its style or driver at any time. This would mean that Bob Chandler would have to give up creative control of Bigfoot and could only compete in Monster Jam sanctioned events. Grave Digger was always 2nd best to Bigfoot and Dennis Anderson essentially sold out to MonsterJam.

Have u ever seen Grave Digger at anything other than a Monster Jam event.
Remember Grave Digger started out as a Ford too.

With Bigfoot, its no different tnan Nascar, u gotta go where the money is at. I was disappointed that Penske went w Dodge after being w Ford for so long. But it happens.

I'm saddened by this too. I want Bigfoot to be a Ford again too.

You guys haven't figured it out yet? The U.S. government owns 60.8 % of GM since they gave so much money to a lot of companies as you know. So GM does not have to use it's own money to sponsor the new Bigfoot. The new GM CEO took over two weeks ago with a 6 million dollar package (the same exact package the departing CEO left with). So we tax payers are paying for the new Bigfoot with our tax money. This is 'free enterprise' and a big step backwards for us Ford owners who love the original Ford Bigfoot.

My .02 worth!!!! I feel like rambling a bit, sorry!!

I will never buy a GM product ever again in my life. The Ford Bigfoot was the best and I will always remember seeing it perform at some of the events I went to. I am so tired of these CEO idiots getting fired or forced to 'resign' and walk away with so much money and then get a pension for life when they meet retirement requirements. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!
