I went to a local rod shop to get fittings for my fuel cell, they were special order. Picked them up and I feel raped: C$105.00 for 5 fittings..... and I'm not finished!!!:bawling:
I'm going to shop around a lot more, there must be places to buy cheaper good quality A/N fittings. Any suggestions?
I don't care if they are missing the fancy colored anodizing, in fact I'd prefer no bling.
Thanks,
Richard

I got the fancy anodized A/N fittings from Pep Boys. They were cheap and have been in use for over 3yrs now.

Are there any race shops or off-road shops within 100 km? That might be a good place to start.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I'm trying to avoid the hot rod/ race/ 4x4 shops because I think they charge to much or can't get non-bling fittings. I want 'commercial' type A/N fittings cause I have a feeling they'll be about 1/2 the cost of Aeroquip, Russell, etc.
Richard

Try Princess Auto... AN fittings are identical to JIC fittings, and they are definitely not 'bling'...steel, not anodized aluminum.

These suggestions are more what I'm looking for.
2000RangerXLT; I bookmarked that site ,thanks.
JoeCanada; I'm on my way to P.A. as you read this, thanks. What's jic stand for?
Richard

Any hydraulic shop will have what you need. Do yourself a favour and use Parker fittings. I grew up in a hydraulic shop and we had Parker fittings and hoses and we had the "off brand" products too. We never had any issues with the Parker stuff. I would have the shop make up the hoses too if I were in your place.

+1 on the Parker stuff. That's all my dad uses for work (he does field service on utility trucks) and has never had an issue.

You can pay for the good stuff done the right way, or you'll be bitten in the buttocks later.

Hopman,
Wrong guy. I'm Hopman. not Richard!!!
:icon_rofl: you know what I meant,
Richard

red85,
Hopman,
This brings me to my next question; can I use hydraulic line for gasoline, is the 'rubber' used compatible?
Thanks,
Richard

You can. Parker makes a line of hose that is for fuel transfer applications. I'm sure it's offered in all kinds of diameters.
