Beefy Custom Bumper Almsot Complete

Hey its a first gen bumber give him a break he will look at it and say hmmmmm why dont I cut it here and shape here It will come to him I like it for the first bumber hes made keep up the good work and keep trying diffrent things the only person you have to make happy is you

Hey, I didn't say it needed to look good. I didn't even say I cared. If it works for him thats what counts.

actually if you take into consideration the bottom edge of this compaered to the bottom edge of the original valence, i improved the approach abilities.

Ok its just kinda dark in the pic, I want to see it when your done. in the daylight

And upon remounting and relocation of the bumper it will be mounted higher, as well as closer in, thus increasing approach abilities drastically more, another plan is since i am 4x4 not fx4, i plan to run two steel 2"dia tubes fron the bottom edge of the bumper, to the center of the chassis under the motor cradle, to create a skid setup, and then tach expanded metal in between the tubes. mostly this will be done because the radiator is balls out exposed, and lookng at it i realized that even b4 my wreck tearing off the valence, the only guard for the radiator, was the valance, and a dinky square thin plastic sheet.

Looks good from what I can see in those dark pics, post up some daylight pics, I bet more guys would build a similar bumper to that, seems to fit the look of the truck nicely and is simple enough to replicate. I bet even mounting a winch in behind that thing wouldn't be too difficult either.

also need to figure out a mounting setup for the license plate, i was thinking about using some old 1x1 square tubing and just cutting some 45 angles and framing in the plate and then bolting that or tacking it to the bumper. i dont wanna do a boring mount by just welding threaded rod to it, or using self tappers. and im still not sure, but herculiner maybe?

Hey, how bout some people show me some of your skidplate/skidrail setups, i wanna do up a tube skidrail to cover my radiator

ok well here it s in the daylight, still not relocated yet
this is the cleanest it has ever been

Looks great, do you have plans for it or was it freehand?

i made a million sketches in class when i was da dreaing and then one day in C.A.D. i drafted an orthographical projection (side, front, top views) just to get a better feeling of the angles.

Cool, I've been debating on doing a bumper for a while now.

Do it. Its worth it. Not only does it make your truck stand out, but you can get the exact look you want. And knowing that you made it yourself and there isnt another like it makes it even better
