I didn't even know that the SCCA ran a truck series.

What do ya'll think about doing a "Ranger Autocross??"

Go in & make us Ranger guys proud by putting the rice burners back on the trailer!

Show 'em that this truck was built to haul a**!

Yeah I remember reading articles in Car & Driver.Cool project. If I recall they could pull a little over 1g on the skidpad.

The guy I got it from got it from an insurance auction and it was listed as Irrepairable. So it was parts only. I guess he needed rear parts and cut the back of the frame off.

I got it for the engine and trans only. so I don't care.

just remember to run demon camber.

I've heard of cars & trucks being back-halfed, but this is rediculous!

Just to let you know, if you plan on buying those wheels, they will probably run you anywhere from $800 to $1200 used without tires, and you will have to paint them white. Besides the SCCA ranger, they were on 1989 Saleen Mustangs. They may have come on a couple other years, like 1990 and 1991, but they didn't come on 1988 and earlier Saleens. I have 2 sets of those wheels myself. Another bit of information that might be handy, the 2 front wheels are 16x7 and the rear wheels are 16x8. Good luck and keep us posted on the progress.

If I get wheels that are like those I'll be running the 15X7's for competition but I'd like to get some 15x8 up front and 15x10's out back.

H. WHEELS

All vehicles must run 15 inch diameter

X 7 inch wide wheels. The track may

vary from the original dimension by a

maximum of one (1) inch. Track will

be measured equal distance from

centerline of chassis. Wheels may be

aluminum alloy or steel material only.

Are you using a turbo 4-banger or a V6?

Going to try to follow the rules as close as I can.

I. ELIGIBLE

Eligible vehicles shall be those light

duty, 4-cylinder, two-wheel-drive

pickup trucks sold in the U.S. All

vehicles shall conform to the

manufacturer's, as produced and

delivered, specifications, as listed on

the specification sheet for that model,

except for the following specific

specifications, additions, and

modifications. The official factory shop

manual for the year, make and model

truck, and all configuration supportive

data must be the possession of each

competitor at all events.

The turbo 4 cly was never offered in a gas version ranger. I've got a NA 2.3L that I'll use. Suppose you could co with a 2.5L depending on the year of truck you use.

I guess a NA 4-banger it is. Single plugs or twin plugs? Is it going to be street legal? If so, put 'em all to shame!
