Sony Xplod Gang

really the only wire i got showing is my power wire and i could hide it if i wanted to but im kinda lazy. got my sub in a box right behid the passenger seat and the amp is behind the fold out seat in that little compartment thing.

true SQ is WAY more $$$$, then an SPL or "loud" system.

sound quality isnt that expensive. you can probably put together something that will be able to compete in IASCA competitions for around $1500. thats raw drivers, processing, deck, amps, wiring, deadening and any other install essentials. but the average person would be satysfied with a basic 2-way active setup. which if you shop around, you can put together something nice for around $500. big $$$ doesnt equate to great sound.

Kind of funny that this thread ended up being mostly about non-Xplod stuff.
I think that says it all. :D
(low-end Pioneer > Xplod)

I'd say real SQ is expensive,my front stage retails for about $800CAD up here. The biggest costs come from your amps, and labor. My system installed at retail would be close to 3000, and i still need a new head unit, maybe a new amp.

It can be done, but a poorly installed window is most often the the root of the problem.

ehh were all having a good time. i personally dont like sony. im a pioneer guy myself. but thats just me

well dont really now how many subs he installed, but he used like 3 batteries in that truck, not sure he cracked the windshield, but i know he cracked the rear windows

It's possible that there was a fine crack or small chip in the windshield to being with, systems exaggerate it, and they grow.

I'd rock Sony if I had it for nothing, but it's not on my list of things to buy specifically.

My power wire routing ended up being sort of interesting, I routed it though the fender, and through the cab where my engine main harness used to run. I made a block off plate out of steel and installed a grommet for the wire and is very upgradable for future wiring. You can only see about 6" of power wire near the battery. Routed power under the passenger side carpet and the RCAs/remote on the driver's side.

agreed. ide take pioneer any day over sony. was gonna buy a sony 1000 amp but i think immma go with a pioneer 760 wich bridged will run 360 watts rms. my subs rated at 350 so it should boom perty good.

do you know if there any good?

dont know, never used em. i dont care for some of there speakers but ive never bought a set of there "good" ones so i dont know. i would go with rf, kicker, something along those lines.
