Sony Xplod Gang

on a budget sony is a good way to go, or wait for a friend to upgrade there system and buy there stuff dirt cheap :)

I'm wanting to put a system in my 04, my 88 had a system pieced together with an unknow 12in sub, an 8in sub with no box that rolled around the floor, and a big tweater box with a 550 amp. I never even ran the wires under the door molding.
It caught fire once... a cheeseburger or something got into the amp wires and my cab looked like cheech and chong smoking.
But i loved having a little bumpity truck for when I was listening to johnny paycheck. My exhaust was straight piped and i couldn't hear the radio b4.
But I do want to do this truck properly. I was thinking about taking it to custom audio or something and just throwing money at it.... any ideas are appreciated though.

That's pretty cool, I figured I was looking at a grand or so I wonder how loud that'd get me....
and since all my vehicles are paid off, it wouldn't hurt my fealings to stuff a system in it

I'm sure the quality would suck... but I'd like to see a video of someones system.
Especially if it was breaking a window or something.
And photos would give me an idea of placement, but I read an article a while back about people breaking 160db and stuff, and it causing some major carnage to vehicles, or making long hair blow back... in music "drag racing"
I don't think I could get that for a thousand bucks, but maybe a sound quality truck....

true SQ is WAY more $$$$, then an SPL or "loud" system.

You get used to it, I used to do it on the side for some extra coin to put into my truck. But if you tackle it you just have to keep telling yourself to do it once, do it right, and you wont have to do it again for 10 years.

true, i install my stuff myself, and now for my brother and cousin, and im not talking Bs when i say that i work way better than those "qualified technicians" the stores down here have, so if u do it yourself take your time and think clearly which is the best way to do it, u wont see any wires in my truck cuz i take my time and i do it one wire at the time, besides i have some experience now:icon_thumby:

nobody here has a system that is capable of breaking glass, unless its already cracked (windshield) or not mounted secure. i could make a nice flex video for you but the camera on my phone sucks. some people have even broken the 180db mark.

x2, but the cost of spl setups can get really spendy too, especially considering the electrical upgrades needed once you really start runnning alot of juice

could anyone imagine spending over 100k on an amp? i sure as hell couldnt

SPL can get expensive, but at that point your vehicle becomes unusable as a vehicle.

I would not spend 100K on that, when i can get a better product for MUCH MUCH less. But on the other hand, I've seen 250K home speakers.
