nows your chance for a big block and a stick dude........ slam a 460 into it with a modern 5spd and some 3.73's in the back. Bigger brakes with a disc brake conversion in the back and a modern suspension.

the problem with putting a "modern 5 spd" behind a 460 is all the ones that will hold up cost a fortune.

Not if you don't mind the roughly 5:1 1st gear and clunkiness of a ZF-5...
 
I know it was talked about a couple of days ago but we ran Crown Vics since 94. We went to Chargers in 08. We still have two Vics. one for the Lt and the other is the K-9. We got into a chase in early December 08. The Vic gave up at 120ish and the Charger per my video was 144. Trust me if you can find a Vic in good shape (LOL) that was used by a Department there not bad off of the line. There are a few, which run at the local track with exhaust and intakes, which run high 13's to mid 14's.
 
Did they offer the 74-76 Gran torinos with a 4sp?

I was jjust wondering, that would be a direct bolt in to a LTD II.

I would love to have a big block in that car, with a 4sp. Could i get stock 400 mounts and use on a 460? The LTD II was offered with the 400 and im curious so it would bolt to the frame in right places.

I'd go with a Buick. They're pretty slick and not alot of people without the knowledge would expect them to go fast.

That or I'd get a Olds 442. But you see vehicles with a muscle car "look" to them and you instantly think of speed.

I didn't say it would be cheap. what manual transmission is used with mustang 429/460 swaps?
 
Hmm... Going on the Caprice idea again... I'd do a Caprice with LT1 with cam, heads, LT headers-into a T-56- into a 12-bolt LSD.... How cool would it be to have a 400hp V8 that gets better than 20 mpg? I can get 25mpg in my LT1 Camaro, the T-56 version would get even better with it's .60-something OD...
 
Got me wanting a Buick Roadmaster wagon. I need the third seat and wood grain sides.
 
how about a 64 ford rancharo with a 351W pushing 500HP with a T-5 or a 4 speed. hell even a built auto would work wonders :D

my buddys dad bought a 64 rancharo for his lil sis, it has a 170 I-6 with a 3 on the tree. hes going to do the 351W idea
 
i would LOVE a crown vic you can buy ones they used as police cars but you know they have been beat on there whole life
a 70 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 would be nice but its common

For 500 bucks i could get a late 60s/Early 70's oldsmobile convertable with a 455 rocket :)

I dont know what kind of shape its in though...the convert top is missing and its been sitting outside.

people were naming a ton of cars that werent sleepers so i though i would throw in my favorites
and there are alot of stupid people around here that dont believe that car can run

The ultimate sleeper would be drop a worked over 351W in Rusty...
 
he said he wanted a sleep car...... if rusty is like everything else in MI, he would crumble under the weight of a 351.
