Getting the itch for a hi-po street sleeper....

I'm sure this would be more expensive, but today I saw a black Lincoln LS that was dropped and had some racy wheels on it... That would be neat... Maybe with a super/turbo 5.4...

Ive toyed with the idea of dropping a 351W wth some work down into rusty, and it might happen but the 2.9 just wont die. lol.

Dustin

Go get your self a Conquest TSI (~mid sized car with alot of leg room) and stuff in a LS1 and have your self a fun little toy, spray it if you need to, just stay away from the Shogun concept... its a bitch :annoyed:

I love the Marauder idea, they are VERY nice cars, and that way you can stick with a "Ford"

dont take my idea.....

and im looking for a ranger for the swap. perfer 2wd manual shortbed reg cab 1st gen but will accept ext cab. just throwing that out there. at work cant post too much. ill get in trouble

Frankly if I were looking to spice up a Vic my knee jerk response...

Why not go whole hog and look for a 3-valve 6.8 for it?

Failing that 4.6DOHC Lincoln engines are common enough...

that and gears.

I'd be thinking "quick" rather than "Fast".

Not if you don't mind the roughly 5:1 1st gear and clunkiness of a ZF-5...
the ZF hold up ok behind a stock 7.5EFI strip the EFI off for a 4bbl and the 7.5 will actually make enough power to break the
ZF TWICE but between the second and third ZF trans I saw one actually break the Dana80 in the F450 the engine was in.

Few here are old enough to understand just how destructive >500Ft/lb can actually be...

Yeah, because the 500ft# late 60's, early 70's cars were actually 400ft# cars by post '71 SAE standards.

So until about 2002 when the 7.3 Powerstroke and the 5.9HO Cummins moved the real 500ft# marker up the board, we never knew.

Will, I've seen enough engines that dyno'ed at sufficiently over 500ft/lb that the engine driven accessories and reivetrain losses weren't going to be relevant.

And while it might not be 500ft/lb at the wheels A)The SAE Net standard
doesn't require that it be measured there and the 500ft/lb IS getting to
the trans to break it....

a 460 CAN turn a ZF into "modern art"

Another factor is that pesky "resistance against the force"

You can really wail on some things if they are hanging from a rope
and not break them, hit it half as hard when there's an anvil to back it up and the results are very different.

The F450 in question weighed 8900# empty w/ dry gas tanks.

If it had been equipped with an open diff it would've simply spun
that pair of 245/85-16's on the back, but it had a locker in it
so if you really wailed on it there was no place for the power to go
if the truck failed to move....

The ZF simply isn't THAT strong, though it's still pretty hard to "break"
as opposed to "wear out"

i'd look for a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (often referred to simply as CVPI or P71. they have lots of pep and can be modded even more..

I thought the PI's were very limited in the engine mods. More of a highspeed suspension package. Maybe the limiter unprogrammed.
I know when the Impalas were being used, there were no engine mods with the exception of the limiter removal.

Yeah, aside from an aux oil cooler they are pretty much the same 2v engine they put in a Mustang, and aside from the intake and programming they are the same as the 2v in trucks.

Only you can almost bet they have been whooped.

seen a guy install a trident v10 twin turboed in a crown vic thats a sleeper or they guy who put a lighting super charged in a crown vic with a 6spd maual n both of thoes cars were wicked

I think a V10 Vic would be a hoot...

But I'd lose whatever taller stock gears it has for a set of 3.27's
add a LockRight to the diff, and I'd sell a kidney even a testicle
to make sure the factory reaction control was functional

Otherwise the first time you try a holeshot you'll be arrested
for detonating a weapon of mass destruction after the transmission EXPLODES...
