New guy, new project: 1988 BII wheeler

That scrap yard is my favorite store, always find something i want haha

So here is the new winch. Was $269 at the 4 wheel parts Truckfest, minus $25 from discount coupon i had plus tax brings it to $268 out the door :D

yo let me get that:icon_cheers: that is a great deal on that are u gonna mount it in the front or back? also i was wondering if you where gonna box the front of the frame like the back or put a front hitch or somthing

This is going to go in the front. I dont think im gonna bother with a rear winch unless it turns out i really need it haha. For the front im gonna box the frame rails themselves and make myself a hefty winch bumper :icon_welder:

is the weahter holding up or are you out of luck over there on updates?:icon_twisted:

i think the weather might hold for me today. That means that the rear end could be sitting on its own weight by tonight... :icon_thumby:

THE REAR AXLE IS IN, TIRES ARE ON, AND JACK STANDS ARE GONE!!!! It was too dark to get pictures, i will take some and post up tomorrow morning :D

Sits a little high but will probably be perfect once the cage goes in and its loaded up.

And just gotta ask, how did my build go from a 5 star average to a 3.67 star average?? :icon_confused: Must have done something someone REALLY didnt like! :icon_rofl:

anyway, look for pics tomorrow. :icon_thumby:

here are the pics of the rear axle in :icon_thumby::

Time to get back to work :D

i have a couple questions whats wrong with the shackle angle and are you going to brace them more.
i still love those colors and why are u going to dove tail a bronco 2 that is gonna be sick i havent seen one of those before..oh and the tires on there are the best interco makes :D
whats good with lots pics of the bam bar build proccess THANKS!

The shackle angle really isnt all that bad, alot of the problem is me being anal about it :D Basically i want it to sit at 45* rather than about 70* which it is right now. If it sits at 45* then it will be able to have more swing back towards the front of the truck. The more swing to the front there is, the more the axle will be able to droop. Thats the way i see it at least haha

And yeah i will be bracing them with .25" plate later. I want to make sure that i dont need to change them around at all before i do that just in case i do end up having to change em around. :icon_thumby:

Im planning on dove tailing it for four reasons:
1) extra room for the rear tires
2) it will be easier to make new wheel wells (less of a gap between side and floor of truck)
3) makes the rear end narrower so that it can get around tight trails easier
4) it looks just plain awesome :headbang: :D

Frame is getting notched. Pics will come soon :icon_welder:

this thing is gonna be killer

thanks for clearing that up. also Get some good pics of when you do the bam bar just a reminder :D
