nephew,:icon_rofl:

probably have a lot harder time grabbing second gear now eh? it takes some of the fun out of the 4.0

where do you get better mounts for these trucks?

My litlte nephew is a handful. One of those kids thats always in to something.like a across between bart simpson and dennis the menace.I tend to refer to him as "Chucky"

I didnt really notice any diffrence in power, but it has taken away some of the "thrill dyno" hp of the 4.0L.From the 1tire fire. I know some of my long sweeper corners will not be the same fun lol

What I did notice is the truck hooks up alot better, but can really fell the tax to the mounts when getting on it hard.

Yep autofab makes a set of motor mounts and a tranny mount.84rangers prices sound about right too.Might do a little shopping around and see who has what. And the tranny mount I might see what I can do with that myself.
famous quote of "it looks pretty easy"

here are some of autofab's motor mounts for the 3.0L ranger.Just to get a ideal.

OK So I found this one on your Photobucket. I know this is a picture of SteveG's Bronco but they are the same links right?

my junk pile

yep, thats SteveG's fullsize bronc. Mine is pretty much the same thing.Built on the same concept.I would just diffrent lenths in the links and maybe brackets.

Autofab sells them. they are about 250 for the motor mounts and 130 IRC for the tranny mount.

Canyon if you find another lunchbox locker for an exploder 8.8 let me know, i have kinda been searchin for one and let me know how the autofab mounts work out. im goin to put some in the race truck when the factory one take a dump (had new ones in it so i couldnt justify gettin the autofab ones since teh truck is on a budget, but a ratchet strap will take care of too mcuh engine movement should they come apart lol)

HAhaha,,,thats funny, I bought a harbor fart rachet strap today just for that reason.....they were on sale.....
I'll keep a eye out for you for a lunchbox.I just got the needle in the hay stack lucky when I found the one in the yard for 20 bucks.pull it yourself kind of yard and the lady at the counter rang it up as spider gears ...

there is a guy on san diego graigslist that has a f150 8.8 4.56's and a locker for 300.Dose not say what locker it is...maybe he would part?

what i did was get 1/8th" by 2" plating and welded it to the motor mount bracket on the motor and to the one on the frame...took me 10 min and the motor doesnt budge..tranny is also solid mounted to the cross member

but is solid mounting good it just sends shhocks up into your motor and vese versa

well in a prerunner, landing at WOT all day, solid mounts are the way to go. ive gone through regular mounts and its a pain..my transmition and motor have been solid mounted for alot of offroading and i havent had any probs.

hmmm, ild like to see them too. the only thing i could see down the road is the frame starting to tear but you also have the 2.3, not to say you have not been easy on the truck as WOT lands are harsh no matter what motor you have. just watch that 7.5, i have a shot pinion becuase of that lol :D

its kinda funny..the welds broke from offroading all day today..but u get the idea...need to reweld it alot beter.

do u think thats a bit narrow

I have never had problems with 15x7 and 33/35 12.50 tires before. And put some miles on those combos before with out any funy wear. I do tend to rotate the tires a bit. tires not cheap
