I had to redo the brakes, a complete rebuild job on a '84 Ranger, the only autoparts store in town that had everything I needed, O'Reilly's had.

NAPA didn't have all the parts in stock, would have to order(but would be in at 7:30am the next morning)

AutoZone, ;brownbag;

and O'Reilly's had it all except the front brake hose retaining clips.(nobody had those in stock)

I did a fairly complete rebuild of my brakes(minus brake booster), now I know what your thinking, WTF he has a 25 yr old truck, why would anyone have those parts in stock, but O'Reilly's had it.

Very impressed and they will get more of my buisness. :)

Also O'Reilly's had more employees, I went into AutoZone, and you know, two employees, always at the parts counter, and a long checkout line at the "Checkout Zone" with NO cashier. WTF Autozone installed their computers facing away from the counters TOWARD YOU? Like WTF they going to make the customers look up their own parts?

I used to work for O'reilly I have to rebuild my my motor and i could have gotten all the parts i needed for the build. Not in stock but I could get them by the latest 2 days. And thats crank, gaskets, etc. But the store I worked at I wont go back to that store anymore. They accused me of stealing parts hince I used to work there. Any who other than that yes one of the best parts stores out there.

Sometimes that'd be easier.:icon_thumby:

yep. Dont get me started on Autozone. They have pissed me off enough over the last month.

I like Oreilly's too. cheaper parts, longer waranty, and the help seems to know at least half ass what they are doing.

I work at Oreillys. Its pretty easy, and im in automotive school, so i can usually help people out with their issues. And when i do and they are happy it feels pretty good. Then this jackass i work with comes in at night and closes. Doesnt do shit. Doesnt clean the stuff he is supposed to or help customers at all. So then i deal with all his problems the next day and clean up everything after him.

i work at advanced.....we have one computer facing the customer (in case he/she wants to look up thier own parts) EVERYTHING major has to be ordered for my truck ('95) it kinda stinks but whatever its there first thing in the morning the next day. :)

The AutoZone had only one computer facing the employees!!! and five facing the customer!

If AutoZone wants to get better, which they need to do, they need a self checkout. I like somone looking up and getting my parts, but the long lines in the checkout zone could be improved by hiring a extra employee, or a self checkout.

May the stock price crash!

Here's another plug for o'reilly's.

Working on a '66 ford LTD needed both front wheel cylinders and a driver's side power window motor. All in stock... for an effin' SIXTY SIX!!!

Sometimes when I used to go to the zone I was almost temped to look the stuff up myself. Most of the time there you know more than the person working. So its like hey heres the parts i want get them for me.

I got one better, when I was still working there I had a guy come in with two huge wheel cylinders and i asked him what they were off of, it was a 79 chevy 2ton work truck. And we had them.

It's the only store that gets my business. I know pretty close to all 15 employees personally and they're always asking me how my turbo truck is running.

O'reilly's is also kind of odd. When I started working on my 2.3T last month, I had to order a few simple parts like timing serpentine belt (I kept the v-belts with the t-bird). Turns out that the Warrensburg store had none of those parts and neither did their Kansas City warehouse. My hometown O'reilly's had all that stuff in stock. Can anyone explain all that???

I used to work there too. I still would if I hadn't already signed up for the Air Force. Dammit, I miss working there EVERY DAY since I had to quit. I honestly can't stand my military job.

Can you ask for USA parts at O'reilly? Thats most of the reason I go to Napa. I don't get along with some of the Chinese parts like brake rotors.

O'Reillys is my #1 auto parts store.

Go to Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sears, Etc and ask for American made stuff..

Post back up when everyone stops laughing.

Nothing is made in America... Case in point, Reese Products (They make trailer hitches) we sell at work. I was stocking some of their ball mounts which still have the shiney blue/red/white REESE sticker, but above it there was a small white one that now says "China".

So what do they produce in Indiana now? The stickers?
