My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Wandering the junk yard this afternoon. Found an 88 F150 with 300CI straight 6, manual trans, electric t-case and manual hubs on the front axle. Nearly all of that stuff intact. Would be great for a project stash if I had the time and money to harvest it.

Bench seat, too. I actually liked the bench srat in my 88. It was useful and a lot better when carrying a dog.

That’s a pretty decent combo. I prefer the manual t-case though and ZF5 transmission

Been looking for similar for a couple years now. Really want to find a OBS extended cab 150 or 250 manual everything for a daily.

Saw a 300 in a dusenberg a few years ago with chopped 460 heads on it. Inspired the idea.

A 300CI straight 6 in the junk yard? I thought those things ran forever.

Maybe the guy died and his widow didn't know any better.

I suppose he parked it there with his last breath. "She ain't gettin' nothin!"

I’d like a crew cab long bed OBS F-250. F-350 SRW is also an option

The 300 with 460 heads was a sight to behold. Finally an easy-ish solution for a crossflow head for a 300. Apparently if you shorten performance heads for a 460 to two 3 cyl heads, they bolt on without much issue. IIRC, they were literally JB welded together in the center to prevent oil seepage - it worked.

Yes, and I fully intend to do this when I rebuild my F-150

The one junkyard around here used an F-150 with the 300 that was only running on 5 cylinders for a parts delivery truck for like 3-4 years then as a yard truck for a few more years before it rotted apart

I thought it was the 351C heads that were used for that...
