1 Ton YJ Crawler build

Was starting to work on finishing the wiring and one thing that's been bugging me and I'm not sure what plan makes most sense.

I kept the chassis wiring harness in the jeep because it has the fuel pump relay and the starter relay, but I'm wondering now if I should bypass all of that and put in a new box just for those circuits and just not use the original wiring at all to run the jeep. I can thin it out then just to keep some of the lights if I want to, but I think that it would make everything cleaner and easier. Any downsides to doing it that way that I'm not thinking of?

Lean and clean is good. Makes troubleshooting and repairs much easier, especially in the field.

That was my thought as well, no digging around a loom, just two relays and two fuses and call it a day. engine management is all standalone, accessories like lights and radio are on a separate one as well. Converting to a push button ignition. Just my inexperience makes me nervous that I'm forgetting something critical.

You'll remember, eventually.

Is the passenger side idler pulley smooth?

If so that is strange to have the ribs running on it.
