What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

i stopped at exxon when driving home from the valley yesterday and got the 93 octane premium. i guess i have never used 93. near my house i guess its all 90 or 91? anyways, i have to get premium because of the procal tuner so i filled up and jumped on the highway to head home. its like 168 miles and normally always a headwind so i generally get around 19 or 20 mpg. same as coming to corpus from san antonio, always a headwind and terrible gas mileage.

i got home and the truck is faying 24.3 instead of 19 or 20.x.

i geuss we will see once i fill up even though half the tank is going to be driving around town.

if the mileage is up that much, i may look for 93 everywhere.

My 2019 gets better gas mileage with higher octane fuel as well. Until the Shell station came into town a few months ago, I only ran 87 but since they sell non-ethaniol fuel, I took the higher fuel cost leap. Especially now that my commute to work is 45 minutes to a hour away, depending on the time of day. Before then, paying for anything other than 87 wasn't worth the extra cost to me. Of course, I don't have a tune either. So, that may more or less dictate you having to go to a higher octane fuel anyway.

I ordered new rear shocks. I decided to go with Bilstein B8 5100 after doing some research. 5160s would have been cool but it seems all the remote reservoir shocks require periodic maintenance. Then there is the price difference. I can buy two 5100 series shocks for the price of one 5160.

5100s are nice. I have had them beforr

Well got it aligned today. Wasn't as bad as I thought after the EAPS swap.

Then remembered I purchased the Husky hood protector before all the power steering issues. So put that bad boy on.

I average 1.5 mpg better with 89 over 87 but didn't see any difference between 89 and 93.
Mine is stock tune.
Most of the time I run E15 88 because it's 60-70 cents less than 89 and it's my lowest cost of operation.
I put on around 350-400 miles a week.

My oldest son traded in his 24 stx 4x4 for a 26 lariat 4x4. He got a 2.7 instead of the 2.3 snd said it feels like s totally different truck because the engine is so smooth.

I am trying to load pics and something is wrong. I hit attach and select the photo and the box appear but the percentage stays at 0 and the pix never loads

TripleAliners sent me a tailgate pad and bug guard to test out and report back how it is. They have been sending me lots of things to test out for free and i just let them know how the fit is and do a write up comparing their stuff to whatever i had already. Its a pretty cool deal, really

If you can't get it to work, it may be the format the pictures are in. I ran into that a time or two.

Alternatively, you could try a photo sharing website. You just copy the link for the photo and use the link icon in the photo sharing, then paste the link. I use imgr since I can make the albums hidden and it makes an easy way to get the photos from my phone to my computer for a permenant save and clear up what is saved on my phone.

I'm diving into the steering rack removal today. With luck (I'm not holding my breath) I can also start the installation.

It is supposed to be raining all day tomorrow. So, whatever gets done today is going to be it for the weekend. I can nibble away at the install thoughout the week and hopefully have it back on the road by the end of the week.

The shocks are supposed to be delivered Wednesday. So, I have those to work on as well.

The tire issue will have to wait until I get paid (or my state tax return gets deposited). PA likes to sit on money they owe for a while. So, I'm not expecting that to happen anytime soon.

Typical government. You owe money, they want it now. They owe you money, they will sit on it and take their sweet time. Assuming they don't ask for more information first. The federal already did that, wanting proof that I was actually deployed. So, I sent them a mountain of paperwork containing various orders, the travel voucher, awards given as a result of the deployment, and my DD-214. I get that from time to time. The last time was the township. So, I drowned them in paperwork.

You can probably get it all done. The actual bolting and installation didn't take long at all. Getting it out was the issue haha. Just break the inner tie rods loose the remove the whole rod and the steering shaft will swing right around the front of the motor. If I knew that I could have completed it all in a day.
