2006 FX Level II 5.0L AWD swap, and the lessons I'm currently learning during this project...

Do you think that it will work the same for my 04 ranger 3.0, and did you have any problems with the OSS with the speedometer on the trans for the PCM to let it shift properly.

The explorer ecu uses the auto transmission's own speed sensors for shifting, not the wheel speed sensors that feed the abs and speedometer. So it will drive and shift fine without any chassis harness/gem speed signals, it's all integral to the 5.0's own engine/trans harness to the ECU.

Which cluster do you have? 2004 was a bastard changeover year, I've had 04's with both the original style cluster and with the later digital odo cluster.

Sorry I have a 03 not 04 ranger, I have the whole 99 mountaineer for a donor. So I ended up putting the 99 cluster in and the entire harness into my 03 ranger. The pats that my 03 ranger had was the white clear plastic one. I got it all wired up today and it started with no issues, runs great just got to wire up the restraint and the airbags and GeForce sensors and I'll be done. Thank you for your response.
