Im lifting the ranger 6" I was going to get the extreme drop pitman but looking at other threads it says it puts huge amounts of pressure on the steering box and other problems.
What if any issues or problems would installing the lift and pitman arm cause?:no2:
I also thought about the superlift steering linkage but know it has to be modified to fit this big of lift. I would do that myself, problem is I have no welder or friends that can fab to help with this.

What should I do??

The the Superlift Superunner steering. Even if you don't modify it, it will still be better than an extreme drop pitman arm and will eliminate almost all of your bump steer.

BTW, you will still need a 4-6" lift drop pitman arm with the Superunner steering.

Ive got a trailmaster drop arm but I dont know the length.
would the kit still need to be modified with a dropped arm??

for the best steering, yes it will need to be modified.

If you read the instructions from Superlift for it, the Superunner kit requires a drop pitman arm also.

another option is to leave the stock pitman and move the steering up to the top side of the spindles. you'll have to ream out the top of the spindles so its countersunk but its free and eliminates the stresses caused by a drop pitman.

Ummmm on a Dana 28 AND Dana 35 TTB, the tie rod ends do go into the top of the steering knuckle.

I don't think you know what you are talking about.

Where did he say its 4x?

Im talking about 2wd. Dont be a dick.

it is 4x4. Sorry guys I dont know much at all about steering systems. If I can get away with a extreme drop pitman arm, I'll do it. If it will handle horribly or cause abnormal tire wear or any mechanical problems with anything I will try something else.
So who's got ideas for me? What do you run? What works/doesnt work? I know there is pros and cons to every system but dont want to spend my money on garbage.
thanks.

My personal opinion is to run a regular drop pitman arm and a Superunner steering if you have the money now. If you don't have the money now, run a regular drop pitman arm and save for a Superunner. You could also find one used if you wait. A buddy of mine found his used and it was almost new.

I just got the extreme drop arm, I have been running the 4 -6 " drop arm for a while and its pretty suckie. Its ok on flat smooth roads, but on the back roads that are bumps and dips you better be hanging on to the steering wheel.
I am going to install the extreme drop this weekend I will let you know how it works.
The extreme drop is a monster, It makes the other one look puny.

The extreme arm will put excessive pressure on the steering box. I can almost guarantee that you will be replacing the steering box shortly.

If you want a band aid fix, install a steering stabilizer.

I don't think it puts much stress on the steering box, but rather the frame. I know with my 5" of lift in the front and the regular skyjacker drop arm the frame horn on the drivers side flexes quite a bit when you turn the steering side to side.
