Hi

I just broke the handle off my dipstick! D@mn!!

Looking around I can't find a replacement. Everything is "discontinued" or out of stock.

Anyone know where I can source a new one?

And/ or what the correct length should be?

Thanks so much!

Russ

Have you ever been to a pick-a-part yard? That's where I get parts that are discontinued or hard to find. I'm sure D.C. has several yards. The ones where I live are called U-Pull-It, U-Wrench-It and similar names. Cost a couple bucks per day to enter then a dipstick here is $4.

I think real estate must be too expensive around here. All the junk yards are more than an hour drive away. I did take your advice and leave a couple requests. We'll see if I get any hits.

Just had the same problem on my 99 ohv. I ended up buying a dipstick for a SOHC and using a 1/16" drill bit to punch out the roll pin that connects the handle to the metal dipstick portion, then attached the plastic handle to my old dipstick

I suppose I don't have 25 more years to worry about it... but I'm hoping the billeted aluminum handle fix is a one and done fix.
