I want to install the whipple supercharger on my 3.0l but I don't know which whipple I need.
Stmitch, install whipple supercharger on 3.0l v6 Ford Ranger.. but which whipple supercharger is??

Good question. Ford actually had a setup designed for the 3.0l, from what I understand. I don’t have any specifics or part numbers. @stmitch is the man on that one

I finally gave up hope on ever finding one. Even when my project was still on the back burner, my thought was that I would probably have to use an Eaton m90 and make a custom upper intake to adapt it.

The compressor (supercharger unit itself) is a Lysholm 1200. It's a 1.2L, twin screw design. Whipple took the compressor and designed/engineered the necessary intake manifold, air intake tube, bracketry, throttle body, MAF, etc to make that compressor bolt onto the Vulcan 3.0.

They're super rare. Whipple hasn't had any parts for well over a decade. Your only hope is finding one in a random place. If you want to boost your Vulcan, then a custom Eaton setup or turbo is probably going to be much easier than stumbling onto a used Whipple kit.

Morana sells adapters for both the Eaton M90 and Eaton M112

Yeah; he just disappeared after getting busted for squeezing the Charmin. Really kind of a shame.

I have recently acquired a Ford ranger with this Whipple charger kit with a 10 pulley I have a question for you Stmitch I was wondering what you have done to your truck or know what I can do to it I have had a custom tune put on a sct tuner and everything else that I know of is stock I have one cylinder that has low compression like 110 hoping it’s valves or head gasket not that much out there on these setups might go through the motor just wondering what I can do if I take apart this motor if it rings appreciate the help

Don't think I've ever seen a polished kit in the wild. That's cool, and probably even more rare than the standard black finish!

Seems like a pretty fun truck if it works. The Hurst + Whipple combo is a good time.
It looks like somebody has eliminated the factory airbox and MAF location. That may be fine, but if you have any MAF related FCs, or driveability issues, that might be worth checking over closely.

My build thread is here if you want to browse. Engine build pics start around page 7 I think:

Every time I look at Tom Morana's prices I'm surprised he's still in business.

For real his prices are wildly high! Does anyone by chance know the part number for the ARP studs he offers on his site?

Currently working on the list of parts I’m going to need to turbo mine.

Id like to know as well, because im about to hop mine up quite a bit. Like to find some good (not fel pro) head gaskets too.

Well I have come to bring my fellow 3.0L Vulcan fans some knowledge! My engine is currently apart at my work, so I reached out to ARP n asked them if they by chance had a kit cuz of what we’ve seen on Tom’s website. They sent me a form to fill out with the measurements etc. Sent it back to them and they came back with the kit that matched what I need. Well the kit that shares similarities came back as Nissan’s RB20/RB25 stud kit. You will need to purchase 2 more studs, washers n nuts because that kit comes with 14, N the 3.0L requires 16. So with all that being said an admin may want to pin this somewhere since I believe I’m one of very few to have said Information? Correct me if I am wrong by all means though!

Thanks!
