That's the I've always done flat towing. Gotta have a trusted co-driver. When you're using a chain, they are your brakes too.

They had a regular tow bar... and were keeping up OK the interstate.

I was in Panama City Beach, about to go eat lunch at Ford's Garage,and I saw this Mustang.

Then I saw this truck.

Very cool guy named Jim was the owner. He got it from his FIL and has kept it roadworthy since his passing. Mr. Jim let me take video and pics of his B4000 and very much knew he had a Ford Ranger in disguise.

After we talked for about 15 minutes, he "gifted" me a bunch of merch that he had leftover from the Mustang Car show we missed by 45 minutes.

Then we had lunch

I don't post much here cause it would be a never ending torrent of pix from me if I did...I live in farm country and all the farm boys drive Rangers or really old square body's or old F-series, I see em everywhere and park next to em all the time. When I stopped at home depot with the missus to get batteries, sprinkler stuff (is the time of the year to fix all that up), we parked nose to nose with a 1st gen Explorer - looked to be '91 or 92 in faded purple, clear coat missing...

Anyhow when I went to the junkyard I saw this and if it really is the elusive heavy half and not just a set of stickers I thought I got to show the guys.. Plus all the other pix I might take would have to edit to hide the guys plates (CO requires front plates), and this guy was just running around with no front plate so it made my job easier.

Saw this lil' guy at the OttoZone. Looks like an XLS. I see a hint of tan/brown peeking through those rocker panels. Has the front brush guard, tubular rear bumper and the spare tire swing.

I'd be more impressed with bounce. something that heavy going up at 70 mph has got to have some serious detrimental results.

plus the wheelbase is so short its going to be scrubbing rear tires when turning, I guess you could offset it by having worn tires on the inside duals & new ones on the outside (or just different sizes altogether)
