Definitely has a blown head gasket. Got a ton of parts on the way and I hope to have the heads off in a few days.

Down to the short block now. New timing set is in. Decided to run a 98ish F150 4.2 ecm and harness.

Looks like I'm going to need the pinout for the 42 pin connector. 1998 2.5. If anyone has that it would be awesome. I also need the pinout for a 1998 F150 4.2, if anyone knows where to find that. Pretty sure the F150's use the same 42 pin connector, if not...I'm in trouble.

42 pin connector? Is that the same as the Ranger BigWhitePlug?

Idk. It's the one joining the engine harness to the truck. On the driver's side, square, with a bolt holding it together.

Yep. It's round on the earlier models. You'll probably be fine with very similar year harnesses. Sometimes (rarely) they are even plug & play.

Probably have to get an EVTM for each model to get that. When I did my swap I used a Haynes and Chilton manual. I still found a few anomalies. Even after spending a month of nights tracking wires. (And removing ones I wouldn't use.)

Oddly enough, everything on my 88 and 91 harnesses matched color wise except I think the tach...
