ATL/Southeast Shows & Meets

Cruise in/show was fab as expected. First, let me apologize to the folks who run it, the charity was for cystic fibrosis, not leukemia. Out of the Park home run, the event raised $740,000. That’s not bad.

Plenty of eye candy for the Ranger/bronco lovers

And I always get a giggle when some rich guy buys some really great car, but doesn’t quite know how to drive it. There was one spot left in my little row, and this guy came with his racing Corvette. He backed it back-and-forth about four or five times before he got embarrassed enough to just drive it away, but it was a fabulous car

Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible that looks like it rode out of the showroom. At 225 inches it’s 5 inches shorter than my Mark V. I guess you could call it a midsize.

And what’s a good car and bike show without a wicker motorcycle?

In keeping with the cause, the live entertainment, the great crowd, they got barbecue that I swear is from the joint upstairs. When you get to the Pearly gates, if you give the password to Saint Peter, this barbecue joint is just inside on the right. Absolutely to die for.

When I go to these things with the Road Ranger, I usually wait till it’s pretty cleared out before I leave. I wouldn’t want to scratch any of that candy. Life is an adventure. I picked everything up and loaded it up, tied Lincoln down, got in and turned the key, cranks, but won’t start.

I checked the fuses and a couple things and finally looked online, and one suggestion was to bump the bottom of the gas tank in case the fuel pump isn’t engaging. I asked around if anybody had a little hammer or something. One guy had a double blade broad axe! I told him I wanted to bump the pump, not chop it out! We bumped the bottom of the tank with the handle a few times, turned the key in it fired right up. I have a question on that in the what did you do with your Ranger today section.

And of course the adventure continues, my alternator light was on for the few miles I drove home. 318,000 miles and is giving me trouble already.!

Oh, and one last car to look at. When was the last time you saw one and a half million dollars sitting right in front of you?

Caffeine and octane Sunday morning in Kennesaw. Details above somewhere.

I got here early like usual so I didn’t wreck anybody else’s car because I don’t know how to drive this thing. After an hour, I went to the Porta potty and when I came back this other one was there, but I haven’t met them yet. It’s a start

I’m out here at the December caffeine and octane. I’m at the end of the row that has the Atlanta raptor club.

Caffeine and Octane Sunday at the Kennesaw mall. Info above, I’ll probably get there about 730 in the Road Ranger. I’ll be a couple sections to the west of the food court.

Come join me, and let’s start up an ATRS….

I wish that it wasn't such a drive for me; this thing looks like fun. Old farts and old junk; what could possibly be better, shy of fried catfish and Southern pit barbeque?

@Rick W , thank you for keeping this thread going. It's a great story with a whole lot of eye candy, and it's for a good cause to boot. Win-Win.

Please keep it going.

Wished I could make it. I'll be looking forward to some pictures

Thank you, thank you. Once the regular TRS events are scheduled, maybe we could pick a weekend and have a get together in Atlanta around one of these caffeine and octane cruises.

Something like roll in on Thursday or Friday night, let you guys go charge through the woods somewhere on Saturday, beer and barbecue Saturday night, the cruise in on Sunday morning, and then kick y’all out of Atlanta.

I could set up a little ticket booth to sell passes to get into the shed of miracles, maybe.

if that’s something you’d like to do when the weather improves, and I’ll need a partner to organize the charge through the wood stuff. I know it goes on around here, but I’ve never done it, at least not on purpose when I charged through the Woods.

If it looks like their is a little interest, we could maybe start a link just on that.

If you’re 50-50 if you might want to, why don’t you put your name in here with a comment of what you might want to do or see. If we get four or five people talking about it and it would probably take shape.

Coming an hour late was a bad idea

You could just hand everyone a bucket... then charge by the pound for what we carry out in the bucket...

I pulled into the mall about 45 minutes later than I usually get here. That resulted in standing in the triple line for the better part of another 45 minutes. And with the double long contraption, I couldn’t get anywhere near to where I usually park. So I’m at the edge of that anrea instead of the middle of that section.

no loss, I think, parked on the side with the real big rig behind me is almost a better location. You can see it from across the field, and I’ve got more attention than usual.

More to follow

Panoramic view from the trailer upper deck. Doesn’t do the place justice, because it just looks like a picture of people! Cool cars & bikes as far the eye can see.

I brought my new-to-me barstools, and they were perfect. I could sit and still talk to people at eye-level.

I got to talk to some of the guys who were parked near me, and the next thing I knew the step trailer was one giant bench! Drinkin’ coffee and tellin’ lies. It doesn’t get much better…

unfortunately, once again, tuners and such racing out when it was over like maniacs. I don’t get it cause there’s police all over the place. But there was a three car wreck on interstate 75, backed me up about another 30 minutes. Didn’t look like anybody got hurt in this one, but it blocked the two left lanes.
