Ridding on Cooper STT Pros…….. not sure my vote counts. I’m not really driving it on the road, we’re running about 8psi on the trails. They’re pretty grippy so far. They’re 37 X 12.5 X 17’sView attachment 120250View attachment 120251

Yea, funny thing……. My 21 year old son came by and got it and ran with his college off-road group for a weekend.

It came back with a 1/4 of East Texas dust on it. No pictures and no stories. Said it ran “perfect”.

Have no idea what that means.

F-150 has had Mastercraft Courser CT in 31x10.50-15 (two sets). It’s next set will likely be CXT (the new version of the CT). Currently it has a pair of Thunderer muds on the back because the price was right and I needed two good tires (junkyard find), but they’ve worn super fast. At one point I had a set of Nexen AT tires on it and they wore super fast (less than 12k miles) plus had crap for traction.

green Ranger currently has Mastercraft CXT in 31x10.50-15. Once I get to putting the 18” rims on, this will change, but I haven’t really picked a tire yet. I’d like some sort of AT tire though, not really impressed with the looks or performance of most “All Season” tires, despite this becoming a street truck. The tires that were on the Ranger when I got it were brand new Hankook Dynapro AT and I was never so happy to wear them down enough to justify buying a new set of tires.

Choptop has Mastercraft MXT in 35x12.50-15. So far I’m really pretty happy with this choice. I had BFGs on it prior to this set (AT in the front and MT in the rear) and it did well enough.

My parents have Mastercraft AXT on moms 02 Explorer. They’ve been pretty happy with them on the Explorer. Dad tried them on his Ranger and wasn’t impressed, but he got a set of 31x10.50-15 CXT tires that are slated to be put on his Ranger.

My 92 Ranger has Kenda 30x9.50-15 mud tires and it performed well enough I’d consider buying another set of Kenda.

I purchased BF Goodrich All Terrain K02s. this was in 2019. reason? reputation of the brand and I had the $765 bucks to get the set. in the 5 years I have had them they have performed wonderfully. Something I have noticed in the last year or so the rubber seems to have hardened a bit, and they are less "sticky" on dry pavement and will lock up when I hit the brakes hard or will break loose on dry pavement if i hit the skinny pedal too hard. While the tread is still quite deep, they are not as great as they were in 2019.

I re-read and I guess my vote shouldn't count.... not "All Terrain" or "Mud Terrain" ... Snow tires bought to use as All Season.. The PO (family member) put Firestone Winterforce on in the late spring when tire shops purge their inventory of last years' snow tires. 14" tires are just flat insane, and they went for the cheapest "not crappy brand" when they could get em... apparently they got a good deal on the snowies in April.

I was seriously looking at BF Goodrich as an alternative if getting the Kumhos had been a problem. Used Goodrich tires on my old Taurus wagon years ago and they performed well.

Most recently I bought a set of 31" BFG KO2 AT's but shortly before that I bought some 36" Interco TSL's.

Lots of good alternatives to BFG's out there but you just can't be the look of those white letters & tread pattern.

I’ve had the BFG KO2’s on a couple of Jeeps….. REALLY like that tire.

I'm cheap, the Ranger was an $800 beater wood hauler I paid $500 too much for, 2WD with no limited slip. Finding the standard size tires leaves very little options. The local tire store had Cooper Cobra R/Ts on sale in the right size so that's what's on it right now. They seem to do the job which is mostly on pavement mixed with gravel and dirt logging roads, getting fire wood. If traction becomes a problem I chain up.

I've noticed that was well with the ones on the 2011. And standing water handling isn't as good as it used to be. The tread on mine is about 1/2 gone though. I'm going to try Falkens after I get a set of mud tires and some steel rims and see how they do. They are supposed to be as good as the KO2s.

Last set of tires I bought were General Grabber X3 (35x12.50R15) for my BII.
I had been a BF Goodrich fan for years... However I drifted over to the Generals because BFG (since the KM1) had dropped their tread depth from 21/32" down to 18/32" and their diameter had shrank from 34.9" to 34.5" (so like buying a brand new tire for a brand new price that was already near 15%-worn). General Tire promised in their spec sheets their tires were a true 35" diameter and had a 21/32 tread depth.
Alas, General Tire lied about being 35"... They are 34.6" (measured free, off the ground). At least the tread was the stated 21/32" deep, so was glad about that part. Overall, I'm happy with them. Great offroad, nice above-average-thickness sidewalls, but a bit on the heavy side. Noise is average for a MT.

My tire purchase before that was Toyo M/T (33x12.50R15) for my Ranger. First set of tires for me in 15 years that were actually round! They measured a true 33" and also 21/32" tread. Like the General X3, they are heavier than average for their size due to very thick sidewalls (I actually wanted the Toyo for my BII, but they've never had a 35x12.50R15 for some weird reason).

Worst tires were Goodyear (two sets of MT/Rs bought 9 years apart, not one of the 8 tires were round (or remained round). 1st set also spun on the rims while aired down for offroad (ruining their balance), 2nd set I had warrantied because over time they became VERY out of round. Never again.

Were those the new MTRs or the old ones?

The old ones were really popular but the sidewalls were like paper thin. New style is really thick, I've been running them for about 10 years on my crawler and love em. Everyone had them for a short period of time and now nobody does.

Everything else from Goodyear is junk.
