Need new entire frame for 2001 Ford Ranger extended or doublecab XLT v8 swapped What are my options?

The individual in the video says: (slight paraphrasing).

"The issue is there, like it was repaired before"​

Note: If the frame is square from the front leaf springs shackes forward, and the leaf springs aren't bent from axle forward, the truck will drive straight.

The truck does drive straight and does not pull
The lady at that shop says the frame is down 5 inches witch
That rear end was put in after the damage was done could it possibly drive straight then...and be bent down that far...Or is that shop out of there minds and still selling me a frame job... In your opinion

Remember that you had Helen Keller replace the truck bed at the local Junkyard, they put it on pissed.
The front / rear end is original, not had a replacement welded in ever.. they are yanking your chain.

LOL yeah those guys were not good... lots of Install errors, bed was too far back, leaving a gap between the cab and the bed.
There not mechanics, just a couple of guys at a Junkyard trying to save me some money... But that was the best i could do to get a bed in my area otherwise i would have had to ship one from far away. Most of the places i called wouldn't ship a bed, who had good ones or better ones,... and they wanted more money.

The Original Bed of the truck was Bowed out as my mechanic said. So i replaced it, but i think the bed i got isn't perfect either. So the new bed may be a little bent up but it was straighter then the original bed. I kept the fiber glass panels and tailgate of the original bed. So the truck has a new bed on it that is straighter then the old bed but it is not perfect, I just picked it up from a local junk yard. The bed beneath the bed liner is white with the red panels on and red tailgate on.

I was also told by my mechanic that the frame was fine at the time so i thought i just had body issues... But after replacing the bed the body still didn't line up properly regardless of the install errors...And i noticed that the cabin is high a little it seems...So i thought there must be some kind of frame damage...

So i took it to a frame body shop that deals with frame damage. They measured my frame and found some frame damage. And they told me that i would need to replace the frame. So now i am kinda confused on what to do.

Were they being honest about my frame? And the frame should be replaced? Or at least the back half of the frame.
Or could it just be repaired?
I told the body shop that i don't have money for a frame replacement straight up..., before they measured it.
So they would be wrong to think they could push that on me...So im not certain they were trying to sell me a frame job... it's just not smart for them to do that...i told them i don't have money.

I think its well a little unprofessional to just give me a 60 second little video of my frame that is commentated in a language that i don't speak... Then telling me i need a frame for my truck. The explanation wasn't good enough in my opinion.

So i may go to another shop and get another opinion on the frame.

But bottom line is that there is some frame damage that needs to be fixed or replaced. I would like to do whatever would be best.

Who would make pick up truck frames? That could be trusted to do a good job. I just want somebody to make me a ranger frame to ford specs no modifications. I think its an interesting subject...

I know it would be expensive but some people out there have lots of money... Thought it would be cool to talk about it... I can't afford it but still cool subject. When you google it you don't get much except for classic car chassis or classic truck chassis

I’m sure I speak for most of us following this thread - I’d just like to see you get to a point where you’re happy with your truck and can start enjoying it. There are a couple simple and relatively inexpensive ways fit you to get there that have been laid out here. I suggest picking the one that causes you the least stress and headaches.

Yeah people build frames all the time. But i wouldnt even wanna see the bill.

I dont see material being super pricy on a factory style pickup frame but all the man hours would add up fast.

....and not to mention i doubt it would be OEM quality at any price point.

I am only worth what the VA gives me for 100% disability and maybe a part time job that i can do? I have some PTSD along with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia combo. So i have a mood disorder and i hear and see things basically. That along with a 1 bad knee and few fractured bones = full disability. But it's not much in CA. My family helps me out alot.

I look totally fine though you wouldn't know i was messed up by looking at me. Physically i am okay kinda aside from my knee. I didn't even serve that long either. I wasn't really built for the Military it seems. I served 8 years as an MP in the Army. I only went on 1 combat deployment but it messed me up in my head mostly. I take medication that really helps me be normal. Otherwise i wouldn't be even close to normal. Whatever normal means, Anyway you guys can probably tell LOL

I might go to another frame shop today and maybe get an honest opinion on my truck

Dang dude, sounds like you've been through the wringer. Or are still going through it maybe. I'm not a doctor - I have a bit of experience with bipolar disorder though and I'd just offer this one piece of unsolicited advice, which I'm sure you already know. It's really tough to stay on a budget when the "up" phase kicks in, and I'd really hate to see you or anyone else throwing good money after bad, especially if you're on a fixed income.
Part 2 of unsolicited advice is that you had mentioned maybe not minding an ongoing project, and I totally get that. But maybe consider just getting this frame good enough to get you by, and think of some other fun projects you can do with your truck? This frame deal doesn't seem like much fun, it seems like a source of stress. Solve the short-term problem and then start thinking about long term projects? Maybe turn it into an overlander or something that would allow you to get out and enjoy it.

I have my ups and downs but the meds really help and my family helps me make decisions usually i rarely make any big decision on my own. I usually have my older brother help. So i always have to talk to him about everything i do. I also was a member of the WWP or still am kinda. They really help me alot as well

OK, you gave us a good piece of information by stating the bed was bowed.
that means the rear frame section is not straight.
the bed only attaches to the rear section, completely separate from the front section.

in my opinion that means the damage is mostly confined to the rear section of the frame.
the rear section can be easily replaced by any body shop.
heck, with an engine hoist 1 guy can do the job in a driveway.

on a personal note, take care of yourself and try to keep life on good level playing field.
