Hey gang! So last week I noticed randomly when I fired up my truck it would file at 1500… wouldn’t do it all the time…
with this warm weather I thought it was funny.. I’d wait 2/3 min like normal, then drive up my street. By the time I got to top of the street it has back to 700 roughly..
Anyway, a few days later I throw a code (believe it or not on my way to get a inspection sticker, gods honest truth) I go to the auto parts store and they checked it said it was tps sensor code
so they ordered me a motocraft one
it’s about to come in so I looked on YouTube for the swap; being a 3.0 mine is located on the drivers side. Super easy to get to. I haven’t swapped anything out yet, because I don’t have the part
but also see in some of the comments on YouTube that some people need a “calibration” I can’t really find my answer I’m looking for, will I need a calibration? How’s the right way to calibrate it? Do I need to bring it to a shop to do this?
anyone here have any advice for me when swapping out my sensor? I’d like to do it tomorrow if it comes in, but concerned now about this “calibration” every video I’ve seen they unscrew it, and screw the new one on
any advice is greatly appreciated, thank you!!
