You laugh, but my stepfather's rusty '72 F-100 with a 390 and auto was usually around 11–12 mpg tops. Toward the end, it was down under 10 mpg.

The same became true with my dad's '92 Chevrolet Silverado with 350 and auto. Despite a tuneup, it had issues and its mileage dropped to under 10 mpg before I junked it.

Depends on the rear gear. A 3.54 you could pry squeeze 11 from it. A 4.10? Yeah....8 maybe.

My 78 F350 dually i had with a 400/4sp(manual) and a 4.30 rear averaged 6. Granted the motor wasnt stock and i LOVED hearing them secondaries on that big edelbrock about mid 2nd gear lol.

My 77 F250with a stock 400 and a 3.07 with a C6 i could get 13-14 if i was careful

Back in Sept 1981, I drove my 72-F-250,(390),4x4 , from Pittsburgh P.A. to Seward Alaska. I did have to fuel up a lot. But gas was a bit cheaper back then. I'll post a pic from back then asap.

Someone clicked on the wrong box for the cab type. That's the smallest crew cab I've ever seen. Considering the condition it's in, and if I had the money, I'd buy it.
