Ouch! At least the Subaru didn't drive off - may have run off, but I doubt it!

He was actually completely fine. Rode away in the cop car.

Forgot to mention he had an infant at home waiting for him to come back from the bar. The neighbors had to break into the house to get the kid.

Visited a singing tractor at a pumpkin patch.

Started off looking for deer at my mons/brothers this morning but was too nice of a day with a slight breeze for them to be out and about with a full moon... Then my brother and I tried to move the old Ford truck out of the barn to make way for his hopefully new to acquire combine but the Explorer couldn't get it to budge so we switched to a 50hp tractor and it said no as well... the 120hp tractor said no to starting so we went over to his friends with the combine and the bearings on one of the final drive pulleys started smoking so it said no too? Then helped him get the odd engine on the spray rig he has get running, it's a VW engine (80's vintage water cooled of some sort) with a Zenith carb and a belt drive governor, he'd been messing with it and got the float installed backward so that didn't help but he had the fuel solenoid and choke wires all mixed up somehow, there were wire nuts involved, I got it the best I could... In the midst of finding the float installed backward we pulled the top of the carb off and the gasket tore so once we got it running it was running super rich from whatever circuit was mad about the bad vacuum signal...

Then once I got home I started mowing the yard, then switched to the tractor to harrow the back area that I worked up a month ago...

Went over to the sister-in-law's just down the street to fix a couple of loose patio pavers and rebuild the all wood fence gate. Very nice lady but her husband, a retired Air Force Sargent Major (accountant) died last year after a long long sad decline and death from Alzheimer's.

Not that the husband was much of a fixer but her son, a true parasite won't do s**t with out b*tch*n.

Not that I'm any kind of innocent hero here. Sister-in-Law pays me back with pistachio salad and deviled eggs. Plus I make points with the wife, ha!

About to pack up the '96 with the load of parts I've bought for it along with some tools and bring it over to my uncles to start tinkering on it tomorrow.

I finished installing the tarps on the carport. All that is left is stringing the lights, the gap filler tarp between the porch and carport and the wind break screen.

Finished the flooring in my mothers house.
Just need to do the trim and I’m sure a few other odds and ends.

Bought a parts / doner truck. Needed axles for one BII. 5 speed trans to convert another BII from an automatic. Found a 95 ranger w/ 4.0 5 speed 4x4 that’s fit the bill. Runs and drive but was vandalized. Damn punks. Broke the front and rear glass, jacked up the column, and stole the cat. They never got the truck started. I think I scored at $600

Started the (rather annoying) process of replacing the valve cover gasket on the 96.. during which I swore a bunch and got covered in grease.

Upside though... nothing stripped, snapped, or needed to be sacrificed.. didn't break any electrical connectors.. and the valve cover doesn't need immideate replacement like I thought it might. Gonna channel my inner @Rick W and spray that mutha' with some rustoleum after a quick wire wheeling lol.

*disclaimer: I might not actually use rustoleum.. probably gonna reach for the cheapest, nicest colored can of enamel they have at the hardware store.... actually.... if I'm gonna channel my inner rick.. I should probably go to the local surplus/Salvage store.. they always have tons of paint 🤔

My brother called them “words of power”. Often proceeded by or followed by blood letting. The grease is a natural coagulant.
You mean “sentence enhancers”?

We drove around today looking at houses.
